its fun, but does NOT foster a welcoming environment. if your new to airsoft you will have a bad time here. Also this place as a bad history. All of those Airsoft cheater videos and the infamous “no full auto in the building” usually happen here
It's the closest airsoft field to the Bay Area. It's kind of a bummer it's a mixed bag. I went with a couple of my buddies on Friday night: -Entry is $35 per person, $35 for a rental, you also have to buy a light band if you don't have one for pocket change -The rentals are bone-stock P90s with three midcaps. You get (1) free refill and every after is $5 rounds. You're given a full seal mask (they fog hard) and a dump pouch that will quite literally dump the three P90 mid caps on the floor five seconds after getting on the field. There's no scope on the P90's and you can't really trace BB's under the lighting with foggy goggles indoors so you basically don't know where you're shooting at for the entire time, which wasn't that great. You run out of ammo quick. The P90's battery cover is not even affixed to the body of the gun and will fall off frequently. -I had heard rumors that the gameplay here was a little rough, crossed my fingers, honestly, got burned. It's cliche but people * really * don't call their hits here. Hard to tell at range when you have no idea where your standard issue rental ghetto blasta is firing, but regardless my buddies and I had some back-to-back-to-back especially atrocious moments where it was beyond a doubt another player was hit 10-20 times and was not calling it. -The pre-game briefings were just awful. The AV work is atrocious and you can't hear a word the dude is saying, * and * you can barely make out the ten-point arial font powerpoint about what's going on, so have fun! -Most of the staff were generally unfriendly -The website claims 4x 45-minute games, this was just simply a lie. We got about three 30ish minute games in before deciding to cut our losses. A good-ish time if you make the most out of it and likely better if you're bringing your own gear, but if you have a better home field, save your $35 for a lunch or two.
Great service! Had my first game here. You get 4 games and a lunch break after the second game. The field is huge and it didn’t feel too crowded. The regular players here are extremely welcoming to new players. The rentals aren’t the best, but they aren’t horrible. The evike store attached to the building was nice to be able to buy any gear I needed. The window on the second floor shows the whole field so you can see the game.
Gamepod Combat Zone has a really good layout, well-designed field, and friendly, professional staff. The environment is solid and the current staff is great. However, the biggest issue is the lack of referees on the field. With more players, it's important to have enough refs to keep the games fair and safe. Right now, there just aren’t enough to properly monitor everything. It’s a great place with a lot of potential, but this needs to be addressed.
The best airsoft zone I have ever been to, the rental that I got was badass and the map is huge. I would recommend to people who don’t get sweaty much and can handle full auto tracers to the back from 7 feet. Only problem was the masks that kept fogging up after 10 minutes of use (have to exit the match to clean)
