Awesome Small bar, good drinks and great Dj!
We stopped here for our first stop of the night, had ONE round of drinks, Jell-O shots to be exact, for my best friends bachelorette party, and went up for another round and was denied because apparently we were on “other substances” according to the bartender. I think it’s pretty interesting that the bartender was able to assume and confirm from the one round that we were on other substances. Grandmas had such a great atmosphere until then, I just find it sad that a group of girls apparently can’t be served a second round because we were on other substances… won’t be back and very sad that’s how we were treated when other people behind us were grinding on each other and falling over themselves. PS no one was on other substances and 5/6 people are nurses.
Sooo disgusted with the service there on Saturday 10/4 ...specifically with the Dj: "roix_la_croix" we had a theme party and we tried to request a song and the DJ was sooo rude for no reason. One of my friends was telling the bartender about her bad experience and he told her to stop complaining?! Sooo rude. Than I go in here to read the comments and find out that Grandmas replied with even worse rude self entitled comments. Smh you would think they would apologize to their rude service and possibly try to make the situation better butttt I see they don't. I'm so upset and appalled at the situation and even more after reading the reply comments! Dooooo better!!!!
I visited this place last night with coworkers, vibe was cool and chill. Crowded, but perfect for a small gathering. I decided I would try a cocktail. I waited at the bar and I asked how much a green tea shot was, the bartender (lady) said $8.50. I said oh, okay nvm...then asked if she she could make a lemon drop, but with tequila...she looked at me with a blank stare and replied "uh, yeah." I said okay, I'll take one and one coke please. After coming back with a green tea shot and a coke, I apologized and repeated my order. She let out a huge sigh and proceeded to slam the shaker down to make my drink. I told her just not to worry about it, usually I would have escalated this further, but I just decided not to spend money where I wasn't valued or felt like an annoyance. The gentleman bartender was very nice though.
This is one of my favorite bars in the area. It has a welcoming atmosphere. Their service is good, and they make a good margarita. I do wish they had lemonade as a mixer. Bonus: the restrooms are always clean and well stocked!
