First I will say the hotel is beautiful as it should be for the price. It's getting a little tired but still beautiful. A couple of things I encountered that were annoying. One I pulled up on a cold winter day not greeted by valet or a bellhop. I took my luggage in the door and see someone who sings like the valet and was standing inside in the warm. I asked if they could value my car and he said they could and went to get me a ticket. When I asked him if he was familiar with driving a rivian electric suv he said no. I decided to Self park at the charger myself at that point. Still no bellhop so I took my luggage to my room. Upon returning to park my car I discovered that charging at the Grandover Resort is a paid service that also charges Idol fee and my rivian was set to be done charging it 12:30 in the morning. So if I didn't come out around midnight and take my car off of charge I would be assessed fees until I took it off in the morning. Charging for charging is annoying at a fairly high priced hotel. Motel 6 I could understand. Next I went to my room to iron my clothes for the week and the iron Nicked my shirt in 2 places before I discovered it was damaged. I called the front desk and explain the iron Nicked my shirt and they offered to bring me a new iron but nothing about my shirt being ruined. The person who delivered the iron also didn't seem to care that my shirt was ruined. Again not a great experience for a seemingly high-end hotel.

The Grandover is a beautiful and spacious resort with multiple dining, bar, and coffee options. Did not use their spa services but the pool and hot tub were very nice and the locker rooms and showers well appointed. The staff were excellent. Would love to have a chance to return.

I visited The Spa at Grandover Hotel Resort today with my sister-in-law and my sisters. I had a 50-minute Swedish massage, and I’ll start with the positive—the massage therapist did a good job. He mentioned that I had a lot of tight areas and applied firm pressure to work out those kinks, which I appreciated. The massage itself was relaxing and effective. However, the overall spa experience was somewhat underwhelming. The locker room and bathroom area could definitely use improvement. The robe I was given looked dingy, as if it hadn’t been properly refreshed, and the bathroom had a musty smell—possibly from the carpet. It didn’t give the clean, luxurious feel you expect from a resort spa. We also used the sauna and steam room. The sauna itself was nice, but very small—maybe enough space for about four people. The steam room, unfortunately, felt more like a dirty shower than a relaxing spa amenity, and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The jacuzzi was under maintenance, which was disappointing. Additionally, the indoor pool is connected to the outdoor pool, so during the winter months the water was too cold to comfortably enjoy the indoor pool. We ate at the café as well. The menu was very basic, more of a standard lunch menu than spa dining. My sister-in-law had a BLT that she didn’t enjoy. My sister ordered barbecue wings, which had far too much sauce. I had a cold-cut chicken sandwich that was good, and the fries were good as well—but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, I’d rate the experience about a 6.5 out of 10. While the massage was good, the cleanliness, amenities, and overall ambiance didn’t quite meet expectations. My sister-in-law, who has experienced many different spas, said this was her least favorite so far. With improvements to cleanliness, facility upkeep, and the overall spa environment, this location could offer a much better experience—but as it stands, it fell short of a true luxury spa visit.

This is one of my favorite places for a getaway locally. My last visit wasn't so great. We got in late and needed a microwave. They didn't have them in the room, but I didn't realize there is no access to one at all. This is an upscale resort and I didn't have a way to heat up my meal?!? The room is very outdated. The edges were dirty and rusty. I paid $30 for a nasty omelet. It ended up in the trash with the rest of my cold food. We got a late checkout so that we could explore the hotel with our 7 year old daughter. She was interested in the gingerbread houses. At 11:07 we get a loud banging knock at the door. I opened the door to find the housekeeper yelling at me that checkout was at 11am. I told her we got a late checkout and she demanded to know at what time I was leaving. I'm half asleep and this lady is telling at me about something her front desk staff needed to inform her of. Not acceptable. We went to the pool (indoors) and the water was cold. The waterfall was warm, but the pool was not. We did not appreciate the experience at all during this visit. I pay more for hotels because I'm very particular about where I stay. This was a very disappointing experience.

Came here for a monthly outing with 7 good friends and this place was lovely 😍. The waitstaff was superb. The young man who waited on us was perfect. He fit great with the group of women with satin Christmas pajamas celebrating the holidays together. One of us had the Shrimp and Grits and that was extremely good. That was the only entree but we all had a cocktail. I had the Rudy's Red Nose and baby Rudy did not disappoint. It was only 4 ingredients boy was it tasty. And for $15 if I could bring 2 or 3 home for later I would have.
