I regret having to write this review, as I genuinely tried to resolve the issues I experienced. I had an appointment on a Sunday with the owner to get a perm on my thick, straight hair before traveling out of the country for the holidays. I provided reference photos of tightly curled hair, and the owner assured me that achieving that look was entirely feasible. After my appointment, my hair was wet and had only a slight curl. I assumed this was normal due to the moisture. However, as my hair dried naturally—since I was instructed not to wash it for three days—I noticed it becoming straighter. By Monday morning, I sent the owner photos of my almost completely straight hair. She responded by stating my hair was curlier when I left the salon, even suggesting that I must have brushed or washed it. I assured her that I had followed all instructions carefully; after all, I had invested over $400 in this service. She advised me to keep the chemicals in my hair and wait until Wednesday to wash it, claiming it would curl more. Trusting her expertise, I complied. Unfortunately, by Wednesday, there was no change. When I reached out again, she offered a 30% discount for a redo, but I would have to wait at least a month to avoid further damage. She also mentioned using traditional rods instead of the soft ones, which left me feeling uneasy. I felt this was unfair, especially since I had clearly communicated my desired outcome and had not been informed that achieving it might require multiple attempts. I requested a refund for the service, indicating I would still pay for the chemicals used, but did not believe I should be charged for anything further. Communication became increasingly difficult, and ultimately, she informed me that the best she could offer was a 50% refund. I generally avoid confrontation, so my husband spoke with her, but she ended the call abruptly, reiterating the same offer. I believe that if the owner had been upfront about her confidence in achieving my desired look during my appointment, I could have avoided both the damage to my hair and the financial loss. Now, I’m facing a trip abroad with hair that is wavy and straight, which is incredibly disappointing. It’s disheartening to see how a salon owner can treat a client when concerns are raised. I wish she had been more forthcoming about the situation after I sent the Monday morning pictures. Instead, I felt accused and faced considerable difficulty in seeking a resolution.
Unfortunately, I won't be going back to this salon. Their services are great. This review is only a reflection of the manager and the pricing. If you walk in with curly hair the manager will try to force you to book a "Rezo cut" which is double the price of their regular hair cut even if you just want your hair cut dry. Regular hair cut is $80, Rezo is $155 My gripe is that if I book a regular cut and I ask for it to be cut dry it shouldn't be double the price. There were no extras involved, my hair was cut then washed and dried with a diffuser per usual. No extra special products, nothing at all to identify that large of a price hike. It really makes me sad to not return, but I'm not going to be giving my hard earned money away just because I have curly hair. $80 is plenty for a dry hair cut, and this is downtown Stockton, not LA. $155 is too much for a dry hair cut, wash and dry with diffuser.
This was my first time at this salon. Karina was amazing! She has the best personality and walked me through each step of my first curly cut. The person and the front desk was nice but a bit pushy on buying hair products. I will definitely be back to see Karina!!
UPDATE: It is four months later and my hair has STILL not recovered. I still have to wear extensions in the front of my hair to hide the botched parts. Also, no other hair colorist will touch my hair because of how damaged it still is. I am so disappointed! I don't often write reviews but I would like to save anyone else from having an awful experience. I went in for a consultation with a "blonding expert" and she told me she could get me to the color I wanted. She gave me a price and I was comfortable with it so I called back to book an appointment. I went in for the appointment and was glad that they work in teams because I am usually at the salon for 10+ hours when getting my hair done. Everything was going well and she kept reassuring me that the bleach was lifting great and never raised any concerns. She did mention she was going to charge me a bit more because I have a lot of hair. When she was done I asked if she could give me a little trim and thin out my hair. She gave me a Mullet! She basically cut off all my hair in the front and 4 inches off the back. If that wasn't bad enough, once I got a look at my hair it was yellow. Half of my hair was grown out since I hadn't gotten my hair done in over a year. And I assume anything I did have, was chopped off with the hair cut. Every wash, the hair looks worse. My hair is multiple different colors and the worst being a gold right in the middle. She said it was from a previous root color but my hair was grown out way past where the awful yellow color is. My hair is not only chopped off but also yellow. Also, it is so damaged, it breaks even to the touch. This experience completely destroyed me. It is going to take my hair a year or more to recover and now I can't do anything to fix it because it is so damaged. Not to mention, I paid over $1,000 for this service. I have been getting my hair blonde for 8 years now. I have NEVER paid that much even with more growth. I was also charged $300 more than what was quoted to me. Which is not a "bit" more like I had agreed to. I will say, everyone is very nice and the salon is beautiful but I would not trust them near me again with bleach services or shears.
I went in for a wash and blowout and wowowow my hair came out so beautiful and so shiny!!! Courtney did my hair and she was amazing start to finish!! Definitely recommend choosing her as your stylist :)) the salon itself was beautiful and everyone was extremely welcoming. Great experience thank youu!! Recommend 1000%
