I brought my dog here at 3:30am because she appeared to be in a lot of pain out of no where. All the staff on duty were compassionate, patient, calming and understanding- they managed my expectations on timing (another animal arrived after us that required much more immediate assistance) while ensuring that we felt comfortable while we waited. The treatment plan was discussed at length, reviewing pros/cons, and all my questions were answered. They gave me options for treatments and let me come to a well informed decision on what was best for my baby. They also managed to make a stressful, no sleep ordeal enjoyable with their positivity and even some laughter. I’m really grateful to know they’re available should future emergencies arise and will definitely bring my animals here in the future. Also very clean and sanitary and they have a clinic cat! Aberdeen and so can’t thank you all enough for taking care of us.
We rushed our cat to the emergency here after he ate some things he shouldn’t have. The clinic was friendly and prompt with getting him in and upon examination determined he needed to have an ultrasound performed. It was concluded he didn’t have anything left in his stomach after he threw up and there was no obstruction. What a relief! He was discharged with some meds. He had a few days of recovery feeling drowsy from sedation but Rocky is back to his regular, healthy self! What a relief! Thank you for everything you did. He was happy and we can tell by his mannerism around his carry cage that he was treated very well here! It was a very nice, clean clinic. Thank you Dr. Diane Ho. We’re grateful. 😊
We had a wonderful experience here considering the circumstances. Thanksgiving weekend my dog had an incident. We were in the Niagara region but the closest emergency vet was under staffed and wait times were over 4+ hours there, so we decided to call this location and they gave us a lot of reassurance and sent us the intake form to complete on our way there. When we arrived they had the room ready for us, offered coffee, tea, water. It took a total of an hour and a half in and out. Nurse Anna and Vet Tech Kendra were so calm, kind and helpful. Our dog was shaky coming in but left at ease with how great they were with him from start to finish. We highly recommend coming here!
It touches my heart with the compassion, understanding, and helpful staff that work here. They care very much for the animals that come in and also the owners. They are there to help every step of the way for the good and bad times. They get to know your pet in order to treat them properly. They keep in mind your budget and the lines of communication is always open. Even though right now my family and I are heartbroken I know and feel the staff did everything they could for our Tuffy! Thank you so much for everything.
I wish I could rate as a 0 but have no choice I need to select 1 Honest Review of the Hamilton Region Emergency Veterinary Clinic (Dr. Diana Ho) We brought our beloved cat TC into the Hamilton Region Emergency Veterinary Clinic for urgent care after hours. He was in obvious distress — peeing uncontrollably, lethargic, with pale gums and blood in his stool. Despite this, Dr. Diana Ho showed little compassion or urgency. We were told that unless we had $5,000 for hospitalization, there wasn’t much they could do — yet they claimed TC “wasn’t dehydrated,” even though he could barely keep his eyes open and was collapsing. Instead of addressing his medical crisis, we were told it might be our fault because we had been treating him for fleas, even though we’d only been trying to help him. Then they charged us $265 for an “assessment” and another $165 for flea and ringworm treatment — treatments that made no sense given the situation. We left heartbroken, $400 poorer and no closer to helping our cat. He was in the same critical condition we brought him in with. It felt like their focus was entirely on billing, not on saving lives. The vet, Dr. Ho, came across as inexperienced, dismissive, and completely detached from the suffering of both the animal and the owners. The support staff and nurses clearly knew TC was in distress — they moved us to the front — but it was as if the doctor didn’t care. If you love your pet, please go anywhere else. This clinic seems more interested in money than medicine. I’m writing this as TC fights for his life tonight — and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone or this place. Praying for TC so much tonight ...A broken Family ...........The Mitchells
