I used to like Happy Alteration and received great service at a reasonable price. Granted, I haven’t been there for several years, and I wasn’t aware until now that they have new ownership. I took in five pairs of dress pants I’d bought from Men’s Wearhouse to Happy Alteration because I wasn’t happy with the tailoring done at MW in the past. Big mistake. When I took the pants in, they were right off the hanger or off the shelf, and most of them only needed the waist taken in. The guy tells me it’ll be $30 for each pair, which I think is a bit steep, but if they do a great job, fine. So, I picked up the pants, which were on hangers with plastic wrap, and take them home. They fit fine, but they were wrinkled as hell. For $30 each, you can’t iron them out? Now I have to take them to a cleaner for pressing. I guess this guy saw me coming, but he damn well never will again.
