We have been patrons of the Hoffman School of Music for nearly 10 years. My two sons both study with Brandon and genuinely enjoy their lessons. I regularly see laughter and smiles through the studio window. Brandon is a wonderful musician and teacher who brings fun and joy to the lessons and helps my sons choose music they love and want to practice. Both boys have excelled under Brandon’s instruction and I just love listening to them play.
Our daughter has been learning piano at Hoffman Academy Portland for the past two months, and we’re very happy with the experience. Mr. AJ is a fantastic teacher—patient, encouraging, and makes each lesson fun and engaging. We’ve already seen great progress and enthusiasm in our daughter. Highly recommend!
Brandon has taught piano to both our daughters for years now. Their progress has been exciting to watch. He is a wonderful teacher--enthusiastic, positive, encouraging, but he also holds them accountable for their learning! Hoffman has a very thorough curriculum that includes a very healthy and age-appropriate dose of music theory that other places seem to neglect. So happy to have found them :) Thanks, Brandon!
I am pretty happy with Hoffman Academy and the quality of their work. I love that there is an established curriculum and a method to teaching music that's been tested and proven to work over the years. We've taken group lessons with Jesse P as well as individual lessons with Hannah and Matt and all of them are amazing with kids and very experienced. We love our current teacher and school academic director Matt S. He is very experienced, kind and patient. He is able to connect with my child and keep him interested and on track.
Our 8-yo has been enrolled in Hoffman Academy for the last 2 years and his growth as a pianist has been heartening to watch. We love the private lessons with Ms Clare Glackin, especially the focus on learning the “fun”damentals of music in a way that is approachable and not intimidating for young kids. The recitals that happen every semester are so critical to building the performance muscle. We love the consistency of practice that forms the cornerstone of lessons at Hoffman, because with just 20-minutes of practice every day, you can do wonders for skill development.
