Booking with Tanner was perfect very lovely to deal with and accurate with all the details. We had a painting party at the gallery and it was an amazing experience! Our artist, Emily, was friendly, professional, and incredibly patient with the kids, which made the event extra special. The only thing I would mention is that the timing felt a bit short, but overall, the space is beautiful and welcoming. We definitely plan on hosting here again!
I took the 4 week cozy wheel pottery with Alyssa. She is fantastic but the studio is not organized at all. Our pieces were not bisque fired for our last class (glaze) so we had to fill out forms for them to glaze them. The glaze work is terrible. Every piece has a blob of area completely missing glaze making none of them food safe. This is extremely disappointing. I've taken wheel workshops at other places in KW and I wouldn't recommend coming here.
I am very glad that I visited this place. The Mother's Day Garden Party took place here, where I was a vendor. The organizers created a festive atmosphere, despite the very cold and rainy weather. The museum and gallery is a great place to explore Canadian history and art. There is a beautiful garden and park around the museum. The sculptures in the park are very unique. I will definitely come to this amazing place again.
Attended the outdoor art show today at the Homer Watson art gallery. It was a lovely time! Lots of original art with the artists engaging with customers strolling around the property. The inside of the gallery has art installations from the Watson family along with local artists. Definitely worth a view and the grounds are beautiful. Try to make a small donation inside the gallery itself, they ask for $5 but in these times I'm sure they can use a little more!
Today i speak of Homer Watson house, in his time he was described as the Canadian Constable. Some would argue the Group of Seven copied him, some would say he them.Myself I find he is a tad more realistic and somehow brighter. Two of his pieces were purchased by Queen Victoria's man in Canada. I am sure he has an official title. As I have often said small town Canada museums and galleries are the heart and soul of this country. The staff and volunteers here work hard and well to make sure there is always something to ignite interest. I heartily recommend the 1 hour or so drive. May I suggest a Saturday drive and then explore Kitchener and surrounding are.
