Messed up scheduling 3 times, culminating in them confirming my appointment for the next day then showing up at my door 30 minutes later. Never was able to get a person on the phone to sort things out. Look elsewhere.
Growing up, I was taught it takes more energy to do the right thing than the wrong thing and to behave accordingly. I used Hourly Husbands to hang several items using French cleats I purchased and supplied for the job. The instructions to use them were clearly marked in both the estimate and invoice. They seemed to do a decent job hanging the heavy mirrors and I had no reason to be suspicious until some time later when I repainted rooms and noticed instead of the mirrors being securely fastened with the materials I supplied, in their place were two nails, and I wasn’t in possession of the cleats either. I contacted Hourly Husbands to share their handyman hadn’t honored the estimate and also that the items I purchased were missing. A “Javier” from the company responded that the person who was tasked with the job was “no longer with the company,” thanked me for my feedback and claimed he’d share the comments with his other techs. When I responded that he wasn’t acknowledging the missing equipment I paid for, he emailed back, accused me of lying about his “good workers,” called my job “small” and claimed the cleats I mentioned in the request weren’t in their paperwork for the estimate (I submitted proof he was wrong on both accounts). I let him know he could simply reimburse me for the cleats, complete the job as it was paid for or I would be submitting honest feedback to Google, Yelp, etc. I then IMMEDIATELY received a phone call where “Javier” verbally promised to submit a check for the cost of the items “within the next week.” I was skeptical, but I thanked him for working to a resolution and then emailed a follow-up, thanking him for the call and told him I looked forward to receiving the check, which was over FIVE months ago. I have no expectation of receiving the money back for the stolen items. I’ve given “Javier” and the team multiple opportunities to redeem themselves. Judging by their online reviews of their workmanship and client communication, they no longer deserve my understanding or benefit of the doubt as a small business to support. They are unethical and dishonest. Avoid at all costs.
They were great. Showed up on time and at the time of my choosing (I booked in advance). They also charged me for the actual hours worked. Wilmer was very attentive and also left everything clean, as it was prior to the start of the project work, no mess.
These guys totally screwed up our brick front walk. We asked them to regrout a couple of loose bricks. Instead, he dumped concrete all over them, didn’t wash it off (promised repeatedly that it would…) and then didn’t bother to level the bricks. They promised to send him back to fix it. He didn’t show up. So not only does it look terrible, but it’s now a tripping hazard. We’re now going to have to have someone come and fix this work. We’ve had mixed experiences with this firm in the past, but wow this is miserable. Run away.
Expensive and sloppy. Hired for several jobs over two days and things were left visibly uneven (cabinets and wallpaper, kind of important to get right!) or were not finished. Install of a closet system was done fine. Had a very unprofessional interaction when they showed up on a third morning, unscheduled, after we said we were not available that day. Will not be welcome back to finish or correct the work.
