So glad we found Idaho Custom Woodwork. Decide soon if you want to get your project on their work list. This 15 year old Pottery Barn table was painted white, but Kevin and Joe stripped the paint down to discover a beautiful hickory veneer. They were very careful not to sand it too low and look at the beautiful result. Kevin will communicate and send photos during the process and we also used their pick up and delivery service, very helpful. Recommend highly and will use again. The next restoration is of this ‘primitive’ dresser, age unknown, but Kevin and Joe found square nails used in it. It is full of interesting imperfections which I asked them to keep but it was a total mess. I expected parts of it to splinter and fall apart but the worse parts are expertly repaired, the drawers even work and it is solid and strong. Just beautiful, sanded and natural finish. A favorite piece of furniture. Their attention and care is elevated and they love what they do. Don’t hesitate to entrust your furniture to Idaho Custom Woodwork.
Kevin and his dad were great to work with (sorry, I don’t remember Dad’s name but he was also amazing and ‘Kevin and his dad’ seem to be what a lot of reviewers go by!). I wanted a round dining table that could expand to a very large oval for entertaining. After shopping around a lot I learned they don’t really make tables like that, which led me to look into custom options. Kevin was very responsive, had great ideas, and said the table would be no problem. We went back and forth on different options, with many helpful suggestions from Kevin, until we had everything right and it turned out perfectly. The color (Spanish Oak) is absolutely stunning, the finish coat is beautiful and a perfect match to the other wood in our home, and the quality and craftsmanship are flawless. They don’t charge enough money for what they do. We’re looking forward to finding another project in the future that we can use Idaho Custom Woodwork for.
In love with my new table and chairs that Kevin and his Dad made for our new house! They worked hard to get this to me by the time my out of town guests arrived so we had a place to sit 😉. Getting estimates for other custom made items we want to add to our house.
They refurbished my table that has been in my family for over 40 years. They were extremely responsive and super easy to work with. They sent me photos and updates throughout the job to ensure they got it right. I love the piece! I would recommend them to anyone wanting quality work done on a family piece or if someone wanted a beautiful piece built.
This business did an incredible job of restoring my furniture that was damaged in a long distance move. The work was done in a timely fashion, exceeded my expectations and the business worked well with the mover’s insurance company. Kevin is an artist and artisan.
