We have been with IMS for over a year, with my children learning piano and violin. While the teachers are very friendly and nice, unfortunately the progress has been extremely disappointing. After more than a year, my children still do not know the basic note names or rhythms, and they cannot play even simple songs properly. I had expected that with consistent lessons for a year (we did practice daily at home too), they would at least have some foundation and confidence in music, but this has not happened. Sadly, the teachers have also not been able to spark or sustain their interest in music. Overall, this has been a very frustrating experience.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found IMS and, in particular, Immanuel, during our short 6-month stay in Cardiff. He has been nothing short of exceptional as a piano tutor for our two children, ages 8 and 12. From the very first lesson, it was clear that he brings not only deep musical expertise but also a genuine passion for teaching. He was consistently accommodating to our schedule and made every effort to ensure the kids felt comfortable, motivated, and engaged. His caring and patient approach created a warm learning environment, and both of our children looked forward to their lessons each week. Even though our time here was temporary, these lessons ended up being a meaningful highlight of our stay. We are so grateful for the positive impact Immanuel and IMS had on our children —and on our experience in Cardiff as a whole. Absolutely worth it!

We recently enrolled our son at IMS, and it’s been a fantastic experience. Immanuel, the instructor, is professional, patient, and encouraging, which has helped boost my son’s confidence. The school offers more than just individual lessons, with theory classes, group performances, and opportunities to learn other instruments. My son, Ethan, recently started learning the violin, which complements his piano studies perfectly. A great choice for a well-rounded and supportive musical education!

My two daughters have been attending IMS Piano School, and their piano teacher, Immanuel, is extremely professional and attentive. After each lesson, he provides individualized lesson notes for both children, helping them practice course materials with a clear purpose. At the end of the summer and winter term, they organise a small recital where all the children have the opportunity to showcase their talent on stage. I highly recommend this school to anyone interested in music. They offer not only piano, violin, and guitar lessons but also vocal lessons and more.

My child has been learning violin at IMS for almost two years now. His teacher is excellent — patient, supportive, and highly skilled. IMS organizes performances before Christmas and summer break, giving students the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of family and friends. It’s always a delight to see so many different instruments and talented children. This school is truly a hidden gem in the city.
