The Inn at the Presidio is a charming, historic boutique property. The rooms are large and comfortable—more boutique than modern—and the bathrooms follow the same style. The hotel has character without feeling outdated, which is a rare balance. Breakfast was not bad, and the fire pit is lit during wine happy hour in the evenings, adding a cozy touch. The views look out onto the Presidio park, and the location is extremely quiet and serene. It feels more like a hidden retreat in the woods than a hotel inside a major city. It is a long walk to anywhere, but Uber or Waymo make getting around easy. The property is also well-situated for quick trips in and out of the city via the Golden Gate Bridge. Another big plus: it’s dog-friendly. Overall, a peaceful, historic, tucked-away spot with spacious rooms and a relaxed atmosphere—perfect if you prefer a quieter base while visiting San Francisco.

Such a lovely hotel in a gorgeous area of the city. Safe, quiet, and the perfect place to stay for a couple or family. Look forward to coming back.

I wanted a low key place where my family - including dogs - could stay while in San Francisco. I am a bit of a history buff so this place called out to me. Low key, but very nice.and cozy. Usually get a two room suite which is huge .. a bonus is access to a balcony with rocking chairs over looking the old marching grounds and across to the bay and the iconic Golden Gate. I love the hiking trails as well. Its really quite there even though the city is literally at the gates. Easy walk with kids to the Tunnel Top parks which includes lots of places to run around while also taking in the history of the Presidio.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Inn at the Presidio is such a special place, and it was a relaxing escape! Tucked away in a serene part of San Francisco on the lovely Presidio, this charming inn strikes a perfect balance between tranquility and access to the city’s attractions and all the beauty of the Presidio. The suites are beautifully designed, blending modern comforts with a nod to the inn’s fascinating history as a former military post. Each room has its own character, with stunning decor that reflects the rich heritage of the location. My room has a cozy fireplace and spacious living room. I felt right at home the moment I stepped inside. One of my favorite experiences was sitting by the outside fire and meeting other guests. The inviting atmosphere encourages you to slow down and savor the moment—ideal for those looking to recharge. But for those who want to enjoy nature there is a hiking path right behind the inn. The breakfast each morning was a nice continental spread that provided a comforting start to the day. The wine and cheese reception in the evening was a wonderful way to unwind after a day of exploring, allowing for easy conversation with fellow guests while enjoying some delightful offerings. Parking is right next to the Inn but there is a daily cost to park. The area is safe and the views of the main post with the San Francisco Bay as the background is so cool. Two great restaurants in just steps along with some museums. The parade grounds and NPS visitor is nearby. Guests have access to the YMCA which is in walking distance. Complimentary bikes are available for guests. If you’re searching for a place to escape and unwind, I can’t recommend the Inn at the Presidio enough. It’s a perfect combination of comfort, history, and charm that left me feeling refreshed and inspired.
