Such a great find in the city! Izakaya Domo is tucked away in a cute little laneway, which makes the whole experience feel extra special and cozy. We went as a family and had a really lovely time. The servers were all friendly, polite, and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable right away. The food was absolutely amazing, especially for the price, really good value for the quality. The grilled salmon nigiri was a standout and my kids loved it (which says a lot!). The karaage chicken was my personal favourite, crispy, juicy, and full of flavour. We also tried one of the $6 drinks and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Great atmosphere, great service, and delicious food at reasonable prices. We’ll definitely be back!
Very busy Japanese restaurant with a good vibe and delicious meals. The teishoku set portion is huge. I am surprised it has a small bowl ramen included. I thought it was a miso soup only. The ramen is also very flavourful and the soup is not too thick. It's a highly recommended Japanese restaurant in the CBD.

Enjoyed our dishes and thought the staff were all very friendly and happy to be there. The ordering system is quite easy (QR code that links you to the menu) and the sets are good value. I really enjoyed my salmon don set (with marinated shitake mushrooms) and would happily have that as an individual dish. My set came with cheesecake, chicken and some salad with yummy Yuzu dressing. The spicy wagyu was delicious (sort of like a black vinegar spicy taste but not very spicy). The atmosphere in GPO is quite trendy with their own toilets inside the GPO building. Lots of seating and popular during peak times. We arrived just as they were opening so we didn't have to wait and the food came very quickly.
First time dining here and I’m genuinely blown away. I’m honestly surprised it took me this long to discover such an amazing restaurant. The vibes are absolutely unreal. From the moment you step into the laneway seating, you can tell how much thought has gone into the décor; it’s stylish, atmospheric, and incredibly well executed. Concepts like this can easily be a hit or miss, and when they miss, it really shows. But Izakaya Domo has absolutely nailed it. The food is next level. Their ramen is rich, comforting, and packed with flavour, while the Wagyu is simply to die for, exceptional quality and perfectly cooked. A standout moment was when they flamed the Wagyu right at the table 🔥. I’ve always had a soft spot for a bit of theatrical flair, and this was such a fun and memorable touch. And the fried chicken? Juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside, and hits the spot in every way possible. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the meal is over. The staff deserve a special mention too… friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Service truly delivered with a smile 😃, which made the whole experience even better. Safe to say, I may have just found my new favourite ramen joint. P.S. A big thank you for the complimentary cheesecake (I believe it was a Christmas special) such a lovely and unexpected way to end the meal.
