I had never been to this salon before and wasn’t familiar with any of the stylists, so I just picked my appointment based on availability. I am so glad I ended up with Nykeria! She was very professional but also so friendly and kind. I really appreciated her taking the time to explain the process to me and recommending how I should work with my hair and products I should use. She was very thorough and forthcoming about any upcharges (due to my hair type) and I respect her so much for saying that from the jump rather than waiting till the end like every other salon has done. I felt very comfortable in her chair and she frequently double-checked with the length she was chopping and making sure I was okay with it. I’ll definitely be visiting her again and Junko and recommend anyone else also looking for a salon to check them out
What I wanted - a baylage. What I got - an all over damaged scalp, roots, and ends. I spent roughly 2 weeks emailing the studio, sending current and preferred outcome pictures. I spent almost a year growing my roots out to blend in the rest with my original blonde ends. Instead, the hair stylist (cannot remember her name, small Asian woman, for which the studio complained multiple times how she “came on her day off to accommodate”), either had clearly not seen the emails or blatantly chose to ignore my previous descriptions, and did an all over yellow-orange including on my roots. Mid-appointment, I asked her why she had put orange toner on my hair. Previously, I went to Junko for about 5 years to the same stylist that was a miracle worker and had high hopes. Said stylist btw I have since found out, is still local to Atlanta and running her own studio so please comment if you would like her information. Instead, I got the complete opposite outcome and a rude, dismissive stylist that refused to accept responsibility or even so much as explain what she was doing. When I’d asked her why the toner was orange, when I’ve been a platinum blonde for 10+ years and only seen blue or purple toners, she replied, “Trust the process,” then left to continue speaking her native language while cutting someone else’s hair mid my toning process; therefore, she ended up leaving the toner on for far too long. When she passed, I had to grab her attention to bark at her to take the toner out. She argued with me, told me it was my fault as it was what I had “told her to do.” The blonde shade I had picked out was meant to be the shade to blend, NOT the shade to do all over my entire head, which I specifically did NOT want. Upon taking it out, you can observe the initial results - a disgusting, uneven, urine colored yellow. The salon did attempt to make pathetic reparations, however, they were trying to cover their name being that the damage not only to my natural color that I wished to have been simply blended, but now done from the roots to my entire head. Upon requesting a refund, the salon informed me -> THEY DO NOT DO REFUNDS, EVEN WHEN THE HAIRSTYLIST NOT ONLY IGNORES THE COLORING REQUEST, BUT OUTRIGHT DAMAGES THE HAIR!!!!! DO NOT EVER GO HERE!!!!!!!!! OVERPRICED, UNDERTRAINED, DISRESPECTFUL STAFF!!!!! $250 later, I am going to have to spend months growing out my hair as it is broken, ends destroyed, and an indefinite amount of time trying to replenish the natural blonde I once had. Please see the attached pictures for your own analysis. A disappointment that what was such a good salon seems to defend such poor stylists over their customer service. Since this, I have found an amazing stylist at Bob Steele Salon off Northside Parkway that I would highly recommend!
I had the most amazing experience at JUNKO Hair Studios today! My stylist, Lori, did an incredible job lifting my natural black hair to this beautiful blonde! I asked for a raccoon tail look and she did it perfectly! The atmosphere was super friendly and every stylist there had a smile on their face! I feel so so beautiful, and I will be returning very soon! Thank you, Lori! And thank you JUNKO Hair Studios! Highly recommend!
It’s been years since I went to a salon to get my hair done because the last salon visit I did I was so disappointed but Junko Hair Studio made me trust in hair salons again. Ahmed went above and beyond my expectations, he is very professional, very patient with me, gave some good advice and importantly gave my hair some justice. The 4-hour drive was worth it! ❤️
