Excellent food. Their expanded menu is so good. Definitely will be a neighborhood gem like their food truck. I’ve been here 3x now since they opened. Here’s what I would get. Rip and Dip Roti Banana Blossom Salad Green Papaya Salad (just know it’s not julienned strips of green papaya but more wide noodle like strips) Khao Soi if you lived the rip and dip Roti The Mussels are excellent!
The papaya salad is the best in Austin—perfectly crunchy with that funky, savory fish sauce we love. We also tried the killer noodles and crab curry. The flavor was good, but both were too salty and needed more veggies (lots of fried batter, making it overall too rich and heavy). They're still in soft opening, so hopefully they'll adjust. We'll be back to try more—that papaya salad alone is worth a return trip.
Great spot. The service is awesome along with the space. The food is very heavy for me in terms of Thai food. I wish they had more veggie forward dishes. The pad Thai was too sweet to me. The curry was the best dish to me. The service is great!
We went to Kiin Di last night for dinner. It was our first time and it will not be our last. By far my favorite Thai restaraunt in town: the spice level was turned up, and I love it hot, the balance of spices and flavors was on point as were the crunchy/chewy elements. The Papaya Salad was incredible. The way the Papaya was shredded gave it a very pleasant texture. The scallop crudo was refreshing, filled with incredible umami flavors. The fried shrimp with calamari had a pleasant crunch and plenty of lemongrass, Thai peppers and garlic. We also enjoyed the Ramen Noodles with fried tofu. This dish had pleasant sweet notes but not overly sweet and not sticky as some restaraunts serve. Our server was attentive and pleasant to deal with. Can't wait to go back to try some other options off their menu.
