Kinka Izakaya was busy when we visited, but the service was fast and attentive — we never had to flag anyone down and everything arrived exactly when expected. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing even on a packed night. The food was great — well-prepared, flavorful, and exactly what we hoped for from a Japanese izakaya experience. Would recommend for anyone looking for lively atmosphere and solid food.
My first time having an omakase set and it did not disappoint! I found myself full with delicious foods! If i were to change one thing it would be the price- in my case, it was $45 for a set but a lot of it was vegetarian dishes. I wish a bit of adjustments are made in the future to compensate but otherwise I had a great time in such a lovely and cozy environment!
One of the best izakayas in the city, Kinka Izakaya Original truly never disappoints. I’ve been here many times and every single time I have had an amazing time curated by the attentive staff and the delicious food. The udon dish was so beautifully sauced and the sushi was very fresh. I’m a big fan of their wasabi octopus, it’s generally one of my favourite dishes and they were able to perfectly capture the desired smokiness without it being too overwhelming. An amazing experience overall!
I’ve been coming to this classic izakaya for over ten years, and I’m still obsessed. It’s packed almost every night, and from 5–7pm they have Happy Hour with super affordable drinks and snacks — definitely worth coming for. They also have $5 hand rolls (such a steal!), and a special Omakase set every month that’s only $45. The service is always great, the food is consistently delicious, and the vibe is amazing. Truly one of my all-time favorite izakayas.
A nice, vibrant, youthful atmosphere to enjoy delicious Asian cuisine. Perfect place for birthday celebration with friends, or a lovely date night. I had a lovely time hanging out here, eating, laughing, and tasting a variety of dishes. The serving was good enough to make me full me up. Shout out to Supang who delivered great customer service. It made for a memorable evening. Place can be a bit noisy though. I love the special way they celebrate birthdays- you will feel special if you love spotlight. It was a fun time and I will be back!
