Had a great experience at La Carnita! Went with two friends and we all got the 20.26 prix fixe menu, the Achiote chicken is to die for!! So delish, server was polite and kind, vibes were great as well. Will be coming back!
Staff was kind, and the restaurant is very vibey, but the food just wasn’t all that great. I can always rely on Mexican food for freshness but the strongest flavours were mostly salt and hot/spicy. The nachos were the best dish we had. I wouldn’t recommend the Gordita.
Visited the restaurant on a girls night out for a play mid week. We had made reservations for 6pm but took the server atleast 15 minutes to come take our order. But after that, the drinks and dinner came soon enough. The tacos are single, so u may need to order 2 or more based on your appetite. We ordered a bunch of tacos. Except for the fish tacos all others were loaded, flavourful and on point. Would recommend.
La Carnita is my go-to Mexican restaurant in Toronto! It’s the perfect spot for modern Mexican comfort food — not fully authentic, but always delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The service is friendly and quick, and the outdoor seating adds a fun, relaxed vibe. What I ordered: • 🧀 LC Nachos: loaded with toppings and impossible to stop eating. • 🌽 Mexican Street Corn: creamy, smoky, and perfect for sharing. • 🌶 Eight Spice Tiger Shrimp: absolutely incredible — bold, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. • 🌮 Carne Asada Taco: juicy, flavorful, and rich with a nice smoky finish. • 🐟 Tuna Ceviche Tostada: light, refreshing, and the perfect way to finish the meal. Everything pairs perfectly with a Dos Equis draft beer — a true Mexican classic that completes the experience. Great food, friendly service, and an easygoing atmosphere — it’s my favorite spot for a casual, satisfying Mexican meal in Toronto.
Who Shot Ya... Was my favourite drink from here. The food as well was just amazing. Had a few recommendations supplied to me for a good mexican restaurant to try but this one kept getting the extra nudge when compered to most in the area as the place to go to. Must say, the food and drinks did not disappoint.
