Played a round with friends and honestly we didn’t know what to expect—especially given that the green fees were much more reasonable than other courses in the Bay Area. We weren’t expecting much, but we all were pleasantly surprised. The landscape is dramatic and absolutely beautiful, and the course itself was a great experience start to finish. Also worth calling out: the hot dogs/hot link are legitimately excellent. Not joke. Huge shout-out to Will and Bodhi as well. I accidentally left my rangefinder behind, and they went out of their way to mail it back to me. That kind of service really stands out. Simply put—thank you guys. We’ll definitely be back.
Golf course that feels like you're far away from home as its very scenic. It has unique features such as a par 6 and a par 3 with a big drop. Great customer service, the course was in good condition as expected.
Lake chabot golf course is a hidden Muni gem. The course layout can bith be challenging and forgiving at the same time. Lots of elevation changes and of course that last par 6. In an era where more and more courses raise their prices for grounds that are not well maintained, chabot offers you a good time for a really good price, especially for Oakland residents.
Had a wonderful time at Lake Chabot in August 2025. The fairways and greens were in great shape, and the pace of play was fine. I hadn’t played the course since 2022. I didn’t know that the course is over 100 years old. It’s not that long, but if the wind is blowing, it can be very challenging. One word of caution on the par 6 18th hole. Don’t touch any balls on the fairways that don’t belong to you. The group behind yours might have some big hitters, OR, sometimes the ball just keeps rolling down the hill. I think the group in front of us may not have been aware of this, so when we drove down the hill looking for our balls, we didn’t find them. Maybe they were picked up as “lost balls”. Otherwise a fantastic course with awesome views of the bay. I’d definitely play again on a nice day.
A rather interesting course to play at. A LOT of up and down hill, especially their signature Hole 18, which is a Par 6 hole (first time ever for me), it goes big downhill first, and a big uphill in front of green, not just the distance and accuracy, but also your course management skill, to lay up for your next shot. Was surprised to find out that this is actually a more than 100 years old course, big tribute to it 👍
