5pm on a Saturday and there is a sign on the door saying “on break, back at 5:15pm :)”. Phenomenal time for a break and they didn’t even return for 5:15pm. Saw so many people walk away and myself include as it’s peak time on a Saturday and no one was back.
Went on the evening of 8th October 25 (I was the only customer in the shop) and had the rudest, most passive aggressive service from the guy working there . I was on the mobile (a call I had to take unfortunately, due to an adverse medical diagnosis for a family member), and I waited patiently at the counter to pay while the guy stocked shelves in front of me. No issues - I waited until he eventually acknowledged me, and he said “oh, you ready to pay? Thought you were on a phone call”. I apologised, although I had nothing to apologise for, but the guy continued with his passive aggressive schtick. I recognise that being on the phone isn’t ideal, but I can walk and chew gum at the same time and I was polite and friendly to this guy. Mobile phones aren’t going away, so if this dude continues in a customer service role, he may want to adapt to the reality of modern life.
Has very limited range of popular beverages considering the massive floor space. The staff member seemed unfamiliar with the stock and uninterested in helping me.
No idea of customer service. Second time I get this kind of treatment, form the same woman and a new guy. I decided to give them a second chance only because the owner apologised previously. There won't be a third time!
Great range of Scotch & Japanese whisky. Not many places in Newcastle keep more than just the basic common range of spirits. Vintage Cellars actually has a nice range which would suit most people. Although I'm not a wine drinker, I'm sure wine lovers would enjoy this place as that is there main focus, was quite a large selection on hand.
