Played our fourth or fifth game at locked in games: Chapel of Unrest. One of the better ones they have or at least more suited to us as a family. Great puzzles. Very immersive. Amiable rats. Ably guided through by Rosie.

My friends and I played the chapel room last week. This was by far the best escape room I had done, it felt extremely(!) immersive. Puzzles were interesting and challenging. Our host Grace was fantastic throughout the whole experience and made me scream more than I’d care to admit!

I don't usually review but escape rooms can be so hit and miss! We were really looking forward to our visit today to play Chapel of Unrest, but unfortunately, our experience fell short for a number of reasons. There was confusion at the very start. After asking us to arrive 15 minutes early we were expecting to be briefed but instead we were approached by four different staff members who all asked what we were waiting for. This made us feel a bit overlooked and unprepared going into the game. We understand Chapel of Unrest is designed to be challenging, and we were excited for that. However, a number of technical issues and inconsistencies made it frustrating rather than enjoyable: We were provided with three lanterns essential for gameplay. One ran out of battery within five minutes. We were asked to use phone torches and had to wait for it to be recharged. Another lantern was clearly on low power, making visibility extremely poor in an already very dark room. A bell handle broke during gameplay. One puzzle required counting books that, according to the answer, didn’t actually exist. When we asked the games master afterwards, he couldn't explain why the answer didn’t align with what we saw. A directional clue had a clearly marked "begin here" sign, which directly contradicted the explanation given after the game. It left us confused about what the intended logic was. We were hoping for a scarier atmosphere (even without an actor), but there was no clear storyline or connection to the room’s theme, and very little in the way of suspense or atmosphere. The clues we received during the game were very on-the-nose. Rather than giving us hints, they outright told us codes or where to look, which took the challenge and satisfaction out of solving things ourselves. The TV screen frequently failed to display our time, which made it hard to know our progress. After the game, we asked the games master to walk us through the puzzles we hadn’t solved (as we've experienced in other escape rooms), but he seemed unsure of the solutions himself. His answers often didn't align with what we experienced, and he even admitted, “well, people do it,” which wasn’t very helpful or reassuring. These issues really disrupted the flow and enjoyment of the game. We understand escape rooms are meant to be challenging, but when core mechanics break down and solutions make little sense (even to the staff) it makes it difficult to stay immersed or enjoy the experience. And finally, on entering the room, I got a splinter from one of the props. We’re sharing this feedback not just out of frustration but in the hope it helps you improve the experience for future guests. We’ve played many escape rooms and always love a challenge, but this visit unfortunately missed the mark on multiple levels.

This was my first experience in an escape room and my team did the hotel heist and it was AMAZING. From the second we walked in the door we were treated so well by staff, they were friendly and kind and really helpful explaining how the process worked, the room itself was bloody amazing we all absolutely loved it, will defo be trying other rooms and would defo recommend this place! ( Also free parking. Huge bonus!!)

Had a great time visiting these Escape Rooms. There was a group of 5 of us on the day and we did The Hidden Book and The Choclocked Factory Rooms. We had great fun, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were well designed and put together, and we managed to escape each time, would easily go again to try the over Rooms 😀
