MIA has deplorable business practices. First when you sell something they pay you the next month on the 15th. I specifically asked and texted Rick to tell accounting to hold my check and I would pick it up as I was going out of town. Needless to say, nothing was done and was mailed. I see no reason why when an item(s) is sold they can't pay you in maximum of 7 days. They take 50% so they should provide good service.
My 8 month pregnant wife, who has purchased multiple pieces of furniture here in the past, accidentally broke the lid of a wax candle while shopping on Saturday. Instead of showing any understanding or goodwill toward a loyal customer, the store forced her to pay full retail price, a whopping $155 +tax for the candle. Unbelievable.
This place is a total treasure chest of quirky interior gems — from vintage lights to one-of-a-kind decor finds. We had a blast exploring it all! Everything feels original and full of character. The staff is lovely and helpful. Just a heads-up: I wouldn’t recommend bringing kids. It’s more of a grown-up playground filled with breakables and sharp corners. Perfect for treasure hunters with a taste for the unusual.
A fantastic collection of antiques, unique collectibles, home accessories, seasonal decor, and original collectible art! I love the eclectic mix of unique and original design ideas and inspiration! Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. Definitely a recommended gem in Houston. If you are looking for anything special, make a stop at MAI!
