Unfortunately, I had a very poor experience, to the point where I am partially curious whether this company offers discounts for good reviews. I don’t typically leave reviews because I understand that workers generally try their best and that issues can arise throughout the day. Overall, I consider myself an understanding, low-maintenance, and patient person. A few hours before my appointment, they moved my appointment time earlier so they could better allocate time. However, when I arrived, they were running late and I wasn’t seated until only 10 minutes before my original appointment time. At that point, I still didn’t mind. Per my request, I got Gel-X short square nails with cat-eye gel polish. I knew the cat-eye polish would cost extra, but I also knew the length I wanted wasn’t anything extreme. I did want gold gems or stickers, but the artist decided to paint gold dots and stars instead because she was running behind. This didn’t really make sense to me, since hand-painting nail art is more time-consuming than applying stickers or gems. Additionally, and something I have never experienced before, my artist had her next client sitting in the chair next to me, waiting and watching, because she was behind schedule. This was extremely uncomfortable and awkward, and I didn’t see this happening with any other clients in the salon. The most unfortunate part was the quality of the final result, which became more noticeable as the evening went on. The nails had a terrible and uneven shape, with bulky areas, uneven polish, and only one coat of top coat. As a result, they appeared much duller than they should have and began chipping after just three days. One nail even fell off after only two days, despite no strenuous hand activity. I also followed all of their pre- and post-appointment recommendations. While low-quality work might be understandable from a newer or less experienced artist, this technician has over eight years of experience. Overall, the total came to $173, not including tip. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Multiple friends have pointed out how poor the nails look, and they were even more upset for me after learning how much I paid.
Love going to Mainstream - I always look forward to my appointments! Cassidee always does such an awesome job, I get hard gel and my nails have been so healthy since coming here. Everyone is friendly and the energy is always what I need at the end of a workday/week. Am so grateful to have found Mainstream and have it in my self care routine!
I’ve been going to Mainstream Nails for about a year since I moved to the area and they’re fantastic. Katie normally does my nails (hard gel) and I’ve also had great experiences with Portia and Reyna ☺️ They do book up pretty far in advance so just remember to book ahead (it’s worth it!). It’s not the cheapest place, but they’re up front about their pricing and it feels like you’re getting your money’s worth. A lot of the time, Melly (the founder) personally checks to make sure things look perfect before I go out the door, and the one time where I got home and noticed that the gel set a bit weird/bubbly, I just texted them and they got me in almost immediately and fixed it. Highly recommend this place.
I LOVE getting my nails done at Mainstream! I’ve been a client for over a year now & can’t imagine getting my mani anywhere else. Everyone who works there is super sweet, creative & talented. I see a few different technicians based on availability; they’re all great & I’m always happy with the results. It’s a fun vibe in the salon & everyone has always made me feel very welcome. Highly recommend Mainstream & the whole team!
The best nail salon I have ever been to! Everyone who works here is amazing and I love my appointments with Reyna. She does a flawless job with hard gel and nail art. Working with Reyna has improved my nail health and length like never before. Even when I show up without any ideas for color or nail art, Reyna always has the best suggestions and does an amazing job every single time. Everyone here is extremely knowledgeable and professional and the salon is clean and welcoming. It’s always the highlight of my week when I have an appointment here!
