The OG ACE Korean BBQ on Convoy! There's a wait-list on Yelp so be sure to check in when you're finding parking (paid is next to the building free is the lot west). Best meat cuts etc (English version): Ribeye (comes with butter) Pork and beef bulgogi Rib finger meat (teriyaki too) Short rib meat Pork belly Shrimp ( a mess to de shell, get extra napkins ) Vegetables Grilling onions Garlic What we didn't prefer: Manna steak (no thank you) Squid and octopus (too rubbery) Ssamjang ( Next time we're sticking to the top list : ) Service was ok, but rather hard to get someone's attention even after requesting a server through the touch screen. Also, asking for Pinot Grigio the waiter asked "that's the red one, right?". Ummmm... bruv. We were worried about the $10 per plate of uneaten food, we weren't charged for anything extra so I'm assuming it's for when people order and don't cook all the meats on the plates they come on. Pro tips: Get the vegetables first which comes with a white onion. Cut that up completely and get some of that on the grill asapwith the shears provided. Then use the vegetable plate to hold your cooked meat. Cut the ribeye and pork belly into nice strips since there's no fork / knife avail. Cook all of one meat plate at once, then move to aforementioned plate. Eat and cook more meat and repeat. If you cut up the onion add that to your meat with garlic. Free thrifty ice cream on your way out! Enjoy the meat sweats 😅
Manna BBQ stands as the most disappointing Korean barbecue experience I have encountered to date. This is not due to the food itself—on the contrary, the flavors were commendable and the quality of the ingredients showed real promise. In a cuisine where excellence is defined by the harmony between food and service, however, execution matters just as much as taste. Unfortunately, the service fell profoundly short. From the very first order, requests went unfulfilled. Baby squid and octopus were ordered at the outset and never arrived, despite reminders and ample time passing. What should have been an attentive, immersive dining experience instead felt careless and disjointed. Korean BBQ thrives on attentiveness, rhythm, and hospitality. When service fails, even good food loses its ability to shine. Manna BBQ had all the ingredients for a five-star experience-but left the table unfinished, the promises unmet, and the night underwhelming. A meal should end with satisfaction, not with the lingering sense that something essential was simply forgotten.
Manna BBQ offers a decent Korean BBQ experience with some standout qualities and a few quirks. The food itself was quite good, with well-marinated meats and a nice variety of banchan to accompany the meal. The banchan, in particular, were flavorful and fresh. However, a noticeable difference from other K-BBQ spots was the banchan service. Instead of a self-serve “salad bar” style setup, you had to order the sides from the attentive servers. While the servers were prompt and helpful, it felt a little less convenient than being able to select your own banchan. We opted for the premium selection, but it didn't feel entirely worth the extra cost. The quality was good, but not significantly better than the standard options to justify the price. Overall, it's a solid choice for a Korean BBQ meal, but there are a few areas where it could improve. I'd consider going back, but would probably stick with the regular menu next time.
Manna BBQ is hands-down one of the best Korean BBQ restaurants I’ve ever visited! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a welcoming atmosphere, exceptional cleanliness, and a friendly team that ensures you feel right at home. The star of the show is undoubtedly the food. The quality of the meats is outstanding—whether it’s the buttery slices of beef brisket, the juicy pork belly, or the perfectly marinated Korean style BBQ, each bite is bursting with flavor. For those who enjoy customization, the variety of dipping sauces and seasonings elevate the dining experience to a new level. The complimentary side dishes (banchan) are fresh, diverse, and endlessly refilled. From the crisp and tangy kimchi to the refreshing cucumber salad and savory steamed egg, every dish complements the grilled meats beautifully. The grilling stations are modern and efficient, and the staff is always attentive, ensuring the grills are clean and your dining experience is smooth. Unlike some BBQ spots, Manna BBQ does an excellent job of maintaining a smoke-free environment, so you leave satisfied but not smelling like a BBQ! What truly sets Manna BBQ apart is its ability to combine authentic Korean flavors with excellent service and a vibrant dining atmosphere. Whether you’re a Korean BBQ connoisseur or trying it for the first time, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable experience. Manna BBQ is perfect for family gatherings, date nights, or even casual dinners with friends. If you’re looking for an authentic Korean BBQ spot that serves high-quality food at a great value, Manna BBQ is a must-visit!
Our friends told us that Manna BBQ was the best Korean BBQ in San Diego and it didn’t disappoint. The regular menu and premium menu are close in price and I recommend the premium menu with the ability to order the big ribeye steaks. All the food was excellent with great meat selection and excellent sides. The service was really exemplary. They use a combination of an electronic tablet and servers. They were extremely attentive bringing your food, drinks and whatever else you needed. They would have what you ordered brought to table extremely fast. In addition, they offer to change out your grills right when you need it. The service makes the experience well worth the price. We had a fantastic time and it’s a fun way to have an interactive meal with your friends, family or significant other.
