We have been going to Maple and Clove sporadically for a few years now the last time was a couple of months ago. As always it was great then including service. However after booking We went last Saturday around 1 pm with a party of 3 with another of the party coming a bit later. Despite our explanation of this we were pushed and pushed to order and we had trouble re explaining this to each floor staff who had a go. Once the 4th turned up we had further trouble getting across what we wanted. Table service was poor and not very friendly. In the end we asked to split the bill 50/50 we were refused. I do not know of many institutions now that cannot engineer a split bill. I really hope that it was a one off shift of poor customer service because it was not up to usual standards. Don’t get me wrong the food and coffee was great. Floor staff need retraining. Not sure we will be back until those standards improve.
Really nice food and presented so well. Espresso coffee pretty good Understandable that some places don’t allow you to make menu changes, however, unfortunately not able to make any simple same item changes like changing something from fried eggs to say scrambled eggs, with absolutely no budget on this. To then have another meal that does scrambled eggs. Seems like a little thing but is it. Service wasn’t the greatest with staff not being overly nice or efficient, shows a cafe without healthy competition due to location. A little pricy all things considered, even compared to Sydney. Had a really good feeling about this place. Maybe we just got them on a bad day.
We have family get together for lunch here, as i am staying next door at Burbury hotel for the weekend. It is a cafe setting with outdoor as well, the all day breakfast and lunch menu is simple and extensive. surprise when the food arrive as every dish is so balance and well mix, portion is generous and price is reasonable. We end up going there for breakfast the next morning before we head home to Sydney. 8/10
Super friendly staff, AMAZING coffee! Long black was delicious. Ate here 3 times on a 4 day stay. Lunch menu great, breakfast menu great. Food was delicious, staff super attentive. Will definitely return!
Good food that came out fast- not exactly cheap. The poached eggs came out fast as did the hot chocolate. It won’t blow your mind but I was there for a quick meal and it hit the mark.
