I recently hosted my daughter’s 10th birthday party at Mason Road Skate Center. This was the second private party I’ve had there. I previously hosted my son’s party in September 2023, and that experience was excellent. Unfortunately, this time was completely different. I paid $600 for a private party. While the website does state there is a minimum requirement of 30 people, the staff repeatedly pressured me for a detailed guest list. One of my guests was charged over $60 extra because she brought three additional people who were not on my list. According to the website, the additional cost per person is $17.50; however, she was charged $21 per child—even though the children were only three years old. On top of that, all of my guests were required to pay an additional $5 for inline skate rentals. Given that I paid $600 to rent the venue for a private party, this felt excessive. The party was scheduled to begin at 5:30, but the previous group was not cleared out until that exact time. I had no opportunity to set up beforehand, which resulted in the kids losing valuable skating time. We did not receive the full experience we paid for. Sean, in particular, was very unfriendly and difficult to work with. The only positive aspect of the experience was our party host, a young Black man who was extremely helpful and professional. Unfortunately, the owner and several other staff members—especially Sean—were not welcoming at all. Overall, I would not recommend hosting a party here. The experience felt more focused on money than customer service.

Staff was very "on it" cleaning up behind guests. Mostly high school kids in these jobs & all of them were very sweet, engaged and helpful. The outside of the building looks pretty run down, but don't let it deter you! The interior is fun, bright & festive. They even have a miniature rink for little bitty kids. The music is good to skate to. A little pricey for an individual add-on when a party has been paid for & an extra guest shows up.
