Small, unassuming restaurant, you might even walk straight past without realising, but wow - what a find! We had the salmon sashimi, cheese udon and ramen. Everything tasted 10/10. Loved the little utensil tray with everything in them (chopsticks, soup spoons, and fork/knife/spoon etc). Service was prompt and polite and food arrived very quickly on what appeared to be a semi-busy night. There was a loud group of people at a table near us, but still, the vibe was great and it was very relaxed. We’ll definitely be back!
First of all, remember shops can ask people to rate 5 stars. The ramen took solid 50min to come out seeing less people eating and more waiting to be served when I entered the shop. The pork chashu came out colder then the soup, the egg didn’t have any flavor which other ramen shop will serve eggs that was stored in the base source for day. The main issue was the lack of flavor within the soup, mainly the Kaeshi which is secret source within the soup before the pork soup to add richness and depth. Lack of effort, or ignorance in there ramen today.
Best Japanese in Newie!!! First off the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant isn't overly big but the ambiance is very pleasant and cozy. Came in for a date night with my partner and she absolutely loved the: "Aka Kuro Tonkotsu Ramen" I tried the Eel Udon which was quite unique from many other local Japanese Restaurants. Cocktails are quite unique too and environment is just perfect for a date night😍 Highly recommended 👍👍👍
We came across this small Japanese restaurant by chance and were really glad we did. It’s a tightly run little place that focuses on what matters most, the food, and does it very well. The ramen was excellent, made with fresh, quality ingredients and full of flavour. We also tried the karaage chicken, which was crispy, light, and not at all greasy, and some raw octopus that was exceptionally fresh and a real pleasure to eat. The atmosphere is simple and unpretentious. You don’t come here for décor or theatrics, you come for well-executed Japanese food done with confidence. Service was fantastic too. The boys looking after us were friendly and attentive, even though we didn’t catch their names. Overall, a great experience and definitely somewhere we’d happily return to.
Rich and umami ramen, tender and juicy charsiu, and perfectly cooked noodles that had great bite and chew. Karaage was crispy, crunchy, and well seasoned. Friendly and helpful staff. All in all, a fantastic restaurant to come to for delicious Japanese food.
