Denise, the “manager” is so rude!! An employee told me the restroom was occupied so I waited for them to come out. When he exited and saw me trying to come in, she blocked the door and stated it was an employee restroom. I told her the employee told me it was occupied and she had a fave of discuss . She said fine but I will talk to him. As she exited she slammed the door! There was no “EMPLOYEE ONLY sign. She was so rude and I don’t know how Micheal’s has someone with no compassion working as a manager. Micheal’s, you need to send these kinds of managers to some sort of class to show them how to talk to people. As I left she proceeded to tell the security guard, “see that lady”.. she is something else!! Watch out customers. Micheal’s needs a dress code for them too.. she look as if she was working under a car or outside in the yard! 7560 Westheimer.
“Manager” Denise at Michael’s was not helpful at all! She made a big deal out of blowing up 12 red balloons. I had came in a few days earlier and the lady who checked me out told me that I could come back and have the balloons blown up since I needed them for 3 days later, when I came back, Denise did not want to blow up my balloons…saying that the balloons did not come from her store. On top of that I showed her a payment of $70 from Michael’s and I was telling her the other lady told me that’s all I had to show. Then she was being very condescending and “nice nasty” toward me when I only wanted the 12 balloons blown up. Nothing more nothing less. If you want to be treated like a thief that is incompetent, come to this Michaels and let Denise “help” you. It really seems as if she doesn’t like her job or want to work here. Her customer service is unsatisfactory. I went to my car and found the receipt and brought it back in and she laughed and said “you had the wrong dates” wow, insane. I had been to Michael’s 3-4 days in a row and bought so much stuff, I showed her money I spent in this location. And she made a big deal out of 12 balloons that I had already purchased being blown up. I had my own string as well
Store was minimally stocked missing a lot of basic craft and decorating items. The space felt unkept and claustrophobic. Many of the aisle were obstructed with unstocked pallets and boxes in the way so mobility devices and wheelchairs couldn't pass. Many of the items/ displays had missing price tag/price signs. I ask one staff person for help and she was oddly condescending, hostile and presumptive. She complained about having to help me and check the price THOUGH the ability to check was in a packet hand tool she had at the ready. The level of lazy to get angry at having to press a button shows why they didn't bother to put signs. Even more disturbing I think she was the manager, Slender, older blonde/ grayish hair woman who's looked very unwelcoming. Couldn't read her name tag, but was afraid to ask her name because of her hostile demeanor. There was a greeter at the door when I was exiting saying thank you to everyone and welcome. Yet he had no words for me leaving as I approached. The only good thing about my experience there was that their antagonism and sloppy work ethic save me money. I don't reward terrible behavior with my patronage. I definitely wouldn't shop here if you have a wheelchair or walker. Their set up and attitude clearly says "we don't want your business". Michaels Cooperate, if your sales are low, it might be your staff company culture of "lax work" "bitter attitude" not the economy, driving customers away. Hire better. Do better.
I love this place! It aleays has everything I want. Great price and deals I got for Halloween.
I'm gonna come clean. In almost 10 years in chicago, I visited them once, but I took my neices there more times than I can count! A must visit place, if you are in a mission to make your home look more sophesticated, more homey and more you. Wally Jo's THUMBS-UP
