I was honestly so nervous walking into this salon with my girl, Vesper. She was extremely dirty, her skin was irritated, and her coat was uneven and patchy due to allergies. She was shaking like a leaf, and as a pet parent, my heart was breaking. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming—absolutely no judgment, just compassion and professionalism. They took the time to help calm her down and treated her so gently and confidently that she trusted them enough to go to the back, which says everything. And the results? Amazing. She walked in scared and uncomfortable and walked out confident, happy, tail up, and looking absolutely beautiful. Her coat was clean, bright white, and as even as possible considering her skin allergies. You could literally see the difference in her mood—she felt good. The service was fast, the staff was extremely knowledgeable, the care was impressive, and the price was more than reasonable for the level of attention and love they gave my dog. I am beyond grateful for how they treated my baby girl. If you have a nervous dog, a dog with skin issues, or just want a groomer who truly cares—this is the place. Highly, highly recommend. Michelle's pet salon has always been our go to place with all our fur babies. Thankful that they have been in the Southside community for a long time. I completely trust them and have always receivedgreat service. I also used their pick up service once, which was a great experience, despite my reservations. All the staff are welcoming and caring. Thank you to everyone at Michelles for your kind hearts with our babies!

We have been serviced by Michelle Pet Salon for the past 6 years and highly recommend. The check-in process is always provided with a friendly smile and attention to services explained, priced fairly. Ours boys look terrific with schnauzer cuts for Timmy Tony and Wemby as I like the photos sent afterwards.

Extremely disappointed with my puppy’s first grooming experience. I took my baby yorkie to Michelle’s Pet Salon for her very first grooming appointment, and the entire experience was frustrating from start to finish. I had basic questions about the time frame and feeding while she was there (from 8:45 AM to 4:30 PM), and none were clearly answered before drop-off. I gave very specific instructions: do NOT cut the hair on top of her head, we’re growing it out. The employee wrote this clearly on the order card. When I picked up my pup, not only was she jittery and extremely hungry, but the top of her head was chopped so short that the bow they put on was barely hanging on. Meanwhile, her body didn’t look groomed at all and somehow looked dirtier than when I dropped her off. When I brought this up, the employee checked the order card and confirmed it said exactly what I instructed. Yet her response was, “Sorry, our groomers mainly only speak Spanish.” If they know there’s a language barrier, then that should be proactively addressed, especially when instructions are written down clearly in English. That’s not an excuse. I was offered a free nail trim, which doesn’t fix the fact that my puppy’s head was basically given a buzz cut. I asked for a manager and was told everyone “had already left for the day.” They also make you pay before seeing your dog, which is convenient for them because I would not have paid (let alone tipped) before addressing this with management. What’s done is done, her hair won’t magically grow back overnight. This was her first grooming, and it was completely mishandled. I expect misunderstandings in a fast-food drive-thru… not when entrusting my tiny female yorkie to a professional grooming salon. Extremely disappointed and will not be returning. BTW this is my FIRST negative Google review! That says alot!

Bare with me this is long but can save you time/ money and most importantly your pet not being stressed. Notice how every dog is shaved down with just bad facial grooming? They don't know how to cut. Workers will claim knots & charge you for it, yet not even really attempt to brush them, just straight to the clippers. After this 2nd visit I now realize they don't know how to groom hair. I requested to only cut half his hair length. I could be off but more than likely it's trainees that are just not as experienced to actually groom a decent cut without clipping all the hair off. Our dog is combed out every day. We usually go to Happy Tails Groomers and they are always able to bathe/condition, comb out, cut the hair WITHOUT clipping off all the hair. So we know knots are not an issue. Gave a 2nd chance, thinking we'd switch up for the holiday seasons to have cute photos but huge mistake unfortunately. The 1st photo is after Michelles appointment and the 2nd with bandana is after HappyTails Groomers appointment.
