Vijay is the absolute best! I took my son (a budding photographer) to Mike's Camera in Menlo Park and Vijay noticed us sitting at the computer attempting to created a calendar. He helped my son from start to finish and had great suggestions! Some of the photos printed too dark so some calendars were corrected and we were very happy with the final. Vijay really cares for the customer and always goes above and beyond! He is a photographer and talented artist as well which was also super helpful. Make sure you see Vijay when visiting Mike's Camera in Menlo Park.
I suppose this is a good place to shop if you are male. I bought my husband a photographer's vest for Christmas. I hoped the medium fit him. It turned out too large so we went in the store at Menlo Park in the hopes to exchange it. While my husband was looking for a camera bag, I decided to take care of finding the size S. Not only did I get shuffled off to 3 other associates from the original person who offered to help me, but the third person was less than helpful. I wanted to get a size small and I was willing to order it, even pay for it right then. He claimed he couldn't because he did not know when I would come in. I wanted to turn the return directly into a gift card. He wouldn't do that either. To make a long story short, my husband talked to him and all of a sudden he was willing to order it for him and went as far as to tell him it would be at the store within 1-2 weeks. I will never buy anything for my husband there again.
I had the best experience from the store. Jose explained and helped me update my Nikon firmware with latest version plus teaching me several photography techniques.
Mixed feelings. Good experience going to them for a disposable camera and consulting on some other things, however the film development prices are utterly insane compared to elsewhere, as is their turnaround time. Also had a rather rude employee mess up the development of a roll of film for me, disregarding my instructions, and I had to email with staff several times to get it straightened out (they were very helpful)
My go to camera shop. 1 as a photographer, I borrowed the equipments. They made it easy and inexpensive. Recommend reserve ahead so they can bring other equipment from Sacramento to the Menlo Park store roughly one day. Reserve few days ahead to make sure. 2. Passport shots. Better quality than other store. They even allowed me to print from my camera or let me use their camera because I am a photographer. Fair price. Go on week day. 3. Great customer Service. weekend is crowded and customer service quality can dimnish but everyone are nice and knowledgeable. They suggest ways to save you money and tell you which camera they prefer to use.
