This shop is extremely difficult to deal with. The owner is never there, ever. The opening and closing hours are never respected — you can show up at 3 p.m. and find the store closed! Then, when it finally looks open, you rush over thinking, “Finally!” — only to find a student trying her best to manage the place on her own, but clearly lacking experience. She’s not to blame — it’s the owner who’s completely irresponsible. In my opinion, I would describe this man as a scammer. Here’s why: The first time I went there, it was just to get a screen protector for my phone. I was thinking maybe a simple glass one, but the guy convinced me to go for the “best of the best,” something “top quality silicone.” I said okay. He charged me $50 just for the protector, plus another $30 or so for the case. A few days later, there were bubbles under the screen, and sand got underneath the silicone. I explained that it had been badly applied. He told me to come back, which I did. He applied a new protector — but again, bubbles everywhere. And because of the new case he added, the plastic was slightly raised, which made it worse. When I went back to work in the mine, sand got inside again. I tried to see him for two weeks in a row — he was never there. Every time I went, it was the same poor girl at the counter who said she didn’t know how to apply those types of protectors. She gave me a cheap glass one that probably costs $5 on AliExpress, and her boss “did me a favor” by giving me $10 back. Then one week later, I finally caught him in person and explained everything. This scammer tells me, “Well, you paid $50 for the first one, so I can give you a deal — pay another $30 for a new one.” I couldn’t believe it — he wanted me to pay $80 in total for two screen protectors that both failed because of his own poor work! We even talked while he was installing the first one — I told him that I used to do this job myself back in my home country. I know how to apply tempered glass and silicone protectors properly. The only difference is that I don’t have the machine here, but I know how it should be done. For example, I always apply a thin layer of water before placing it — that’s my technique — but either way, I know exactly how long a good silicone protector should last. So when I say this guy’s work is low quality, I know what I’m talking about. He charged me a total of $80 for two bad installations and still tried to squeeze another $30 out of me. That’s just unacceptable. Finally, I went downstairs to another store called QuickFix Phones, and they charged me only $25 for the same silicone screen — and it looks much better so far.
I had my Pixel 4 repaired at Mobocom and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The team was honest, professional, and clearly knew what they were doing. They replaced my battery and had my phone working perfectly again in just 30 minutes. It’s rare to find such trustworthy service these days, I’m really glad I found Mobocom after other repair shops couldn’t help. Highly recommended!
