A great place to get coffee in SD! It’s a very nice coffee shop and the ambiance is very peaceful. The only struggle was finding seating. However, when we visited, it was over the weekend during peak times so this is understandable. We ordered the Qezwan, which is a Kurdish drink known for its coffee flavor, as it’s decaf and made with pistachios. Although not an exhaustive recount of the history of this drink, it’s delicious and well made here! In addition we ordered the Pistachio San Sebastian (cheesecake) and what I believe was the chocolate / strawberry swiss roll cake (it potentially has a different name). Both desserts were well made and delicious. It was also great to find a shop that had a great selection of desserts remaining after noon but before the late afternoon, as this has been an issue we’ve encountered at other nearby coffee shops. This is an amazing place and definitely worth a try!
I had no idea what a treat I was in for when I was walking and found this cafe. Amazing pastries and cake, wonderful coffees, and delicious unique tea and low caffeinated beverages for those wanting something different. The building is exquisite, with music setting a very nice, chill vibe, and people talking and enjoying company throughout. Service was top notch! The pistachio San Sebastián was amazing and make sure to try the Qezwan if you are a fan of Turkish style drinks.
This cafe is honestly a hidden gem in San Diego. I tried the hazelnut coffee, and it was really good, but the size was a bit on the smaller side (you can see it in my photo) The best thing here, though, is the pistachio cheesecake. It was insanely good… the kind of dessert you keep thinking about even after you leave. If you love desserts, this one is a must-try. There are outdoor tables with a nice vibe, and they also have indoor seating. The only downside is that parking can be a little tough in the area.
New go to coffee shop. This place is so warm and inviting, not only in the atmosphere, but the service as well! There is plenty of seating inside and outside with a variety of two tops, three tops, and a larger table for groups. Plenty of natural and warm light with some outlets. All of the staff were so kind, walking around to take empties from the table. I ordered the spinach and feta pastry and it was divine. I’m excited to come back and try the desserts.
I stopped by this charming little café on University Avenue. Parking can be a bit tricky—I ended up using a nearby lot that technically belonged to other shops, but it seemed fine. Not sure if they have dedicated parking. The café itself has such a unique vibe—stylish, cozy, and with a touch of character. They serve Kurdish-style coffee alongside the usual options, and the space is very aesthetic, with a trendy, laid-back atmosphere. When I visited on a weekday afternoon, it was fully packed—people chatting, working, and just enjoying the space. Their selection of baked goods looked amazing. I grabbed a latte, which was on the milkier side (maybe that’s just their style). They kindly gave me sugar syrup on the side since I didn’t want it pre-mixed. The coffee was decent, but the highlight for me was the brownie—absolutely fantastic. I’m usually very picky about brownies, and most places don’t get it right, but this one was spot on: perfectly sweet without being overwhelming, with walnuts baked in and just the right crunch on the edges. Overall, I really enjoyed the brownie and the ambiance. I wish I had more time to sit with my laptop or relax with a friend. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re in the area!
