The quoting and booking process with My Home Handyman was efficient and professional, and we were initially impressed by how quickly they could schedule us, which was a major reason we chose them. Unfortunately, the actual work fell well short of expectations. Our technician, Terry, was repeatedly late, spent most of the scheduled time off-site buying supplies, and made very limited progress on the days he was booked. A job that was supposed to take two days stretched into multiple return visits, forcing us to reschedule work and personal commitments and delay furniture deliveries. When the work was first declared complete, the quality was extremely poor: paint was left around the entire perimeter of our brand-new vinyl flooring, baseboards were uneven and misaligned, caulking was messy with visible gaps, and some agreed-upon items were not completed at all. We were genuinely distraught by the condition our space was left in. To the company’s credit, they responded promptly to our complaint and sent their finish contractor, Scott, to fix the issues. Scott was professional, punctual, and able to salvage most of the work. We wish we had been able to work with him from the beginning. However, we were disappointed by the lack of prioritization during the repair phase. We had to push for someone to come properly assess the scope of the repair work and there was no urgency to get us scheduled in. The corrective work was not completed until December, nearly a month later than the job was supposed to have been completed. While the company ultimately made things right, the process was stressful, time-consuming, and far longer than expected. There are clearly capable tradespeople here, but based on our experience, quality control, scheduling, and project management need improvement. Photos attached showing a few examples of the “completed” work prior to repairs.
Contractor Martin Lacko was outstanding for a bathtub-to-shower conversion. He did excellent work from demo to finished product, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Be prepared: I did most of the 'legwork' myself to find, price, and modify options.
Our deck used to be very inconvenient as the stairs leading down to the ground were on the left while the garage door was on the right (and blocked off by railing). We had to loop around multiple times for groceries. The my home handyman experience was fantastic. The estimator was quick and suggested the following: cut through the railing, get rid of the 2 steps connected to the garage, build new steps with landing and railing to connect the two. Mark completed the job within the day even with snow. You can't even tell it was separate work. I love the convenience of my deck now, thank you! ❤️
Rich worked wonders in our basement renovation. He helped problem solve and figured out the best solutions to a few challenges along the way. The quality of the work was excellent. Rich also had great communication and was willing to work around other aspects of the renovation. We would highly recommend Rich and My Home Handyman.
Layne and Scott completed a very difficult installation for us, and they did a great job! They were very professional, they demonstrated great care with both our home and the huge/heavy decorative item they were installing. We would not hesitate to use My Home Handyman again.
