A Houston legend! Always heard amazing stories about this place. Was biking in the area and was showing my sons where it was, and some of stories about the place. Neil himself came out, and welcomed us in for cold beverages. While I don't drink any more, he hooked us up with Red Bulls and a Sprite and we got to enjoy the amazing atmosphere. Amazing folks, truly hospitable. A slice of Americana circa 1975-1995 ish. Come check this place out and support these amazing folks.
Nerds unite! This bar has it all - The Simpson’s, a wall of Comics, and great tunes! The staff is very friendly and it feels very welcoming. The taco truck outside is also ffffantastic. ( so yummy)
This was our first time at the new location and all i can say is WOW. Ive been an on and off regular for ages now, yall had only been open maybe 2 years the first time. The new location is perfect! Can't wait to go back!
Neil's always has been and always will be a nerd staple. I've been going since they first opened the old location, and it has always been one of the few "go to" bars for me. The new building is much cleaner and longer/roomier, but it DID lose some of the "homey" feeling that the old location had. Another thing is that it's literally right next to active train tracks. So be prepared for trains to go by from time to time. Also, unlike the old location, it's not within walking distance to any other cool bars or restaurants. But there IS a really good food truck in the parking lot most of the time, so that helps. Parking overall is better than at the old location. It still fills up if you get there too late, but it's not as bad as before.
This place was great across the board. I mean this bar is unique in that. The second you step into it. It feels like you got invited to your friend's basement party where everyone is cool with each other. If you grew up in the 80's or 90's in the States you will get a feel of nostalgia and if you aren't American it looks like a set from a movie in that era. The bartenders are approachable and helpful. The entire atmosphere feels chill and friendly. If I'm ever in EADO I will def pass through there.
