Unhappy with the service/level of honesty of quote. I brought my car in for a check engine light and I asked about installing a block heater. I was quoted 2 hr labour to install the block heater on Toyota Camry. I declined the service as the cost/benefit was nonsensical. While in the shop I called Super Tune and Brake in front of the desk agent for same service and they quoted one hour for my vehicle. It’s hard to imagine it takes two hours of labour to install a block heater. Moreover, back in December in front of Canadian Tire lot a former employee at Super Tune said they might do it for free. When I called back in December and said I had a check engine light to have a look at and asked if they would install the block heater they said there would be no cost if I brought it in for check engine light. So if I had brought it in to Super Tune and Brake today for my check engine light they would have done it for free. If I only brought it in for the block heater install it would be one hour of labour. We can all do the math. I’ve been to OK Tire 4 times including today but cannot in good conscience come back. I don’t trust the company/ethics.
The tires originally agreed upon were unable to arrive due to blizzard conditions (understandable). Despite this, I was informed of comparable ones which actually saved me some money and I had a great experience with Brendan who was resourceful, knowledgeable and quick to ensure a smooth, fast and stress-free winter tire experience for me.
Went here to get my tires swapped and it was a smooth process! Chris was very helpful and they finished quickly! Great service, would recommend and go there again!
Please do not work on your car maintenance here. I brought my car in on May 21st for an oil change, brake pad and rotor replacement, and a tire swap. After the service, my car began making a noise when reversing. I noticed that the spring on the caliper had come off. I returned on Saturday, May 31st, and informed them of the issue. They replaced the brake pads and installed new springs. I specifically asked them to ensure everything was in proper condition because I had to travel to Winkler on Monday. That same evening, my car’s steering started shaking and making a loud, cranky noise. They charge premium prices, but my car is just a Honda—not a Mercedes. For a simple service, I’ve had to return three times. Honestly, I would have preferred going to the dealership instead. Today is Monday, they are closed, and I’ve missed work because of this ongoing issue.
As of March 2023 when I went to do a oil change they charged me a whopping $120 for a full synthetic. I’ll be doing it myself from now on. There was a time where at this location on Nairn, OK TIRE has a person with disabilities come to do some light cleaning. I was in the waiting area when I heard the man with the disabilities say something to Tom at the front desk and Brennan asked Tom”What did he say?” And Tom said “I don’t know” and it seemed clear to me it was in a bit of a condescending tone. I had an Aunt who had Down syndrome and to see that kind of behaviour really grinds my gears. I recently found out that 1 lug nut on the left front wheel and 1 lug nut right front wheel were torqued too tight and came off, as of December of 2023 when putting my own winter tires on. I’ve seen some other reviews how OK TIRE uses an Impact Wrench and NOT a Torque Wrench when changing tires and that’s what does it. Will be taking my business after this. I am sorely disappointed with this company. I previously wrote here to go somewhere else but that was wrong of me. For that, I am sorry. You’re all adults and able to make your own decisions.
