The special pork verde was amaze! The rest of the food was excelent also, eggs and sausage links tasted really good. Great service and nice cozy neighbourhood tmosphere, my only wish was that we could hear the music I think was coming from the kitchen a little better, sounded like a good beat :) on the other hand, despite a full house, noise levels were low, which made it easy to hold a conversation, which is always appreciated.
This is absolutely my favorite breakfast place. Think cut bacon, raspberry syrup and perfect pancakes. What more could you ask for
Hands down one of my favorite breakfast spots in Madison! The food is hot, fresh, and delicious -- but most importantly, and unlike many other breakfast places, the portions are generous with pricing that still feels fair. Their hash browns are unlike anywhere I've been before, wonderfully crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside, highly recommend. If you're coming on the weekend or with a group, arrive early and be prepared for a wait. Sometimes parking can be a challenge during peak times. My fiance and I utilize their online ordering pick-up option, which is so convenient :)
Party of 4, first time visiting. Decor was bland, older building. Wait staff was friendly and the place was packed! My husband got the bacon waffle and eggs, very good and a little too much bacon, if that's a thing. I got the chili cheese omelette and it was good. I wanted to try a taste of the chili before committing and our waitress brought a sample. The flavor was nice, smoky and savory, not sweet. The omelettes are baked so the texture is different, more dense. My daughter got the potato pancakes and was not a fan. They are not like latkes but more pancake batter with a bit of potato added. Our other daughter got the blueberry waffle with chicken sausage and eggs. She was glad she got the blueberry topping on the side because it was so sweet. Two of us got coffee and that prompted the waitresses to stop and ask if we needed refills about 8 minutes. We were visiting and catching up and were a tad annoyed by the interruption but overall, I get it. The tab was a bit pricey in our opinion but we are all from a small town and understand the city is more expensive.
This place definitely lives up to the hype. Great food, timely service, and fairly priced, too. Most places aren't giving you half as much as you get here for the same price. Be ready for a small feast. If you're looking for great food to share, I suggest the apple pancake. It'll take a bit to cook but is unique and delicious.
