Came to Paper Source because I ran into an emergency this holiday season. The whimsical Santa gift box I purchased was somehow switched at checkout and is smaller than my gift. I called ahead and spoke to someone very helpful who told me they offer gift wrapping and gave all the details on the process. I showed up a few hours later and had some help picking out wrapping paper and ribbon. Initially I was looking forward to the gift wrapping because all of the supplies looked to be great quality and I stand by that, however due to the weird shape of the gift, we thought purchasing a box to out it in for “cleanier” appearances, but the box was $16?! For a plain white box? That’s criminal. We decided to opt for stone wrapping paper that’s thicker and more durable, some ribbon for a nice bow and the assurance that the important Santa gift would look like it came straight from the North Pole. When I came to pick up, one of the workers looked at me and said very loudly “You just missed him, Santa just left.” I’m 4”11 wearing an all red Christmas pajama for my kids Christmas party. It was highly distasteful and really embarrassing to see a worker in a professional setting make a short person joke about me looking like one of Santa’s lost elves. I head to get my present, and it looks like something I could’ve easily done at home after watching one Tik Tok maybe 3 times. Nothing about it looks like it’s professional gift wrapped or whimsical. I paid $37 for a basic present (when I specifically mentioned the standard I was looking for considering this is THE gift) and a short person joke. The products seem great, a bit overpriced in my opinion, but the services are underwhelming to say the least.
Amazing experience getting our wedding invite paper/envelopes here. Kathleen went above and beyond to call us and let us know certain inventory was received, etc. so we could meet our deadlines. Really appreciate the staff’s diligence and care.
Store is okay I don’t really go here often but my mom asked for the restroom to use it when we just entered. They had a public restroom at the time me and my mom went a while ago, so they must have changed their store policy. The associate with the short black hair, button up who usually has a monotone voice told her that they don’t have one and they never let any one use it. They gave my mom the code to the restroom upstairs, but it turned out to be incorrect, so she went to the store next door to ask, and they gave her the correct code. It looks like there’s other bad reviews about that person, but they were nice to me personally once when I was looking for some envelopes, thoush still the monotone voice. A different choice of words would be a great tip for people working in any customer service. Go to Paper Place; it's a good alternative, plus the staff is friendly, and they allow you to use the restroom lol.
Nice shop with lots of souvenirs relative to Texas and Austin. I wanted to get some stickers to take home, found some really nice ones but they were $5-6 each! Quite a pricey shop but really nice inventory. Friendly staff
Soooo many cool things here, so make sure you have time to browse! They also have gifts and fun little items for presents. My favorite was the handmade paper, which was actually fairly priced! Between $7-9 for very large sheets! They also had tons of stickers, washi tape, blank cards and envelopes, wrapping paper, etc. Great place for art journaling materials!
