We love this Ukrainian bakery. The owner is great and makes delicious food. Sometimes I would message her on their instagram page to see what pirozhki she has that day and she replies really fast . Other days I just pop in to grab some Ukrainian baked goods . I also sometimes order in advance things like nalisniki with meat and farmers cheese , pelmeni ….. and they are always fresh delicious, little taste of home .
Could go to another bakery with friendlier service. Got a beef kolache and a cream cheese type of danish. I could tell the pastry’s were sitting there for a while, and asked her to warm it in the microwave and she said it was warm. The beef was bland, mushy like potted meat, and cold. The pastry was dry. Basically like a yeast dinner roll type of texture. Decent amount of cream cheese, but very underwhelming. Will try to be back for another try. Will update soon.
I recently visited Pashina on a weekend trip to San Antonio after we saw it from the road and stopped in. The food was freshly made by hand and the honey cake was as dreamy as the ones I enjoyed in Ukraine. Highly recommend!
I really wanted to love this place to support the Ukrainian community, but there’s room for improvement. The $10 slice of cake was dry, and the pastry selection was quite limited. Inside, there was only one small bistro table with two chairs, which made seating scarce. It was also disappointing to see unused outdoor space where additional tables could easily be added. I hope they make some adjustments, as I’d love to see this business thrive.
What a wonderful and unexpected find! Having a husband that grew up with Eastern European cuisine, this place really hits the mark! We enjoyed the wonderful pastry options here, and have continued to enjoy serving up syrniki at home. The staff are so kind, and really put a lot of love into their work.
