I've been to 2 Eddie Lam Open Mics at this school and the space is great! They fit a lot of people in the main hall and it's the most out-of-the-ordinary open mic to perform at. People are there for the music only, not like at a bar or restaurant with many distractors. The owners, Sarah and Chris, are great people with a very fun personality. I hope this place thrives for years on end!

I wanted to start learning piano in person and they responded within a day with availability options. I have felt welcomed in the building and everyone is very friendly. It feels great to have one on one piano instruction and encourage my practice.

Now, this is a story all about how I mastered the strings, let me tell you how I’d like to take a minute, just sit right there To explain how I’m shredding with cash to spare. Just hummin' along, in a musical haze, In my headphones was where I spent most of my days Zonin' out, waxin', bored as a fool Before I found Pleasant Mountain Music School Then a couple of teachers who were up to some good Started making music in my neighborhood I hit one little power chord and my mind went 'Whoa!' I’m headed to Pleasant Mountain, to watch my talent grow!" I walked down the block and as I drew near The sound of music was all I could hear If anything I could say that this place was rare I thought, "This is THE spot where they actually care!" I practiced guitar at seven or eight And I yelled to the teacher, 'These scales sound great!' I looked at my kingdom, I was finally there To shred on my guitar with a mountain of flair. Tl;dr: I've been going to PMM for over 3 years and they have become my first recommendation for anyone looking (or not looking) to learn something musical! I have tried a number of the different classes and clinics they offer and have had a blast in each! The teachers are a talented, passionate, and supportive group of working musicians who provide an environment that allows people to come as they are and leave a little bit more skillful!

I've been learning from Pleasant Mountain's vocal/guitar instructor, Richard, since before he arrived here. He has incredible technical knowledge; not only can he help you safely and effectively expand your range (mine now goes an octave higher than before!), but he will transpose any song into a key that supports your voice type and accompany you on guitar/piano. I started singing as an adult and used to experience so much vocal tension that I couldn't sing for more than a minute without stopping in pain. With Richard's support, I am now able to sing for 45 minutes straight. I highly, highly recommend him as a vocal instructor! Also, if you're looking for opportunities to perform in front of an audience, Pleasant Mountain Music is wonderfully supportive of all levels and ages wanting to take the stage at their recitals and open mics.

I've taken vocal lessons with Richard at a different studio and he's by far the best teacher I've ever had! You can bring in any song and he'll learn it in -5 seconds and immediately make you a better vocalist. Highly recommend him! 10/10
