Great Axe throwing experience! Went for a friend's birthday and had a blast. Besides the axe throwing, they have tons of old school game consoles. We had loads of nostalgia playing Duck Hunt and GoldenEye and Street Fighter while waiting for everybody in our group to show up. After some brief instruction, we started throwing axes and it was tons of fun. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in trying it out.
Great place with a great owner! Lots of fun, extremely safe, and a great place to burn some energy and stress. Also has several retro video game consoles free of charge to play with. Also serves beer, cider, wine. Would come back here again anytime! Reasonable prices as well.

My friend and I recently visited Portland Axe for a laid back afternoon of throwing axes, and it did not disappoint! From start to finish, our time there was filled with excitement and unexpected twists. Upon arrival, we received thorough instruction on proper axe throwing technique, ensuring that even beginners like us felt confident wielding the axes safely. The knowledgeable staff guided us through various games and challenges, keeping the atmosphere lively and engaging throughout. However, what truly set our experience apart was the unexpected power outage. Despite the inconvenience, the owner went above and beyond to ensure that we still had a fantastic time. Not only did they provide complimentary beer from their amazing selection of local crafts to keep our spirits high, but he also generously waived all charges for the throwing session. Don’t worry, it was a bright afternoon and there was plenty of light from the windows so we could easily see! This level of customer service and dedication to ensuring a memorable experience truly impressed us. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality in any establishment, and it speaks volumes about the commitment of the staff at Portland Axe to their customers' enjoyment. Our visit to Portland Axe was a pleasure. Whether you're a seasoned axe-throwing pro or a curious first-timer, I highly recommend checking out this venue for a time unlike any other. Plan on spending at least an hour if not two to fully get the hang of a good throw.
Reservations made online (afterwards our group definitely recommends two hours). Good pricing for the experience. Received instruction for technique, practiced with feedback, introduced to some scoring methods, played a few rounds. Tried some alternate axes and throws. Heavy, two handed axe throw and lighter axe with an underhand throw. Everyone enjoyed the venue and appreciated the staff and instructor. Good selection of beers ciders and drinks in cans with a glass. Water available as self serve. Even two pinball machines!
