First time here and the miss who helped us had a good attitude and was happy to help us when we told her it was our first time. Really enjoyed the Mac & Cheese and the ribs were the highlight & they even gave us a sample of two other items on the menu because it was our first time ! Thanks for the experience and good food !

Don’t really go to downtown much but had a Saturday off and decided to see what downtown has to offer. I have seen Primetime BBQ on social media and wanted to try it out. I had a hard time making a choice and the girl behind the counter suggested the tri tip sandwich with grilled onions, peppers and provolone cheese. I also tried the beans and mac and cheese. The meat was so tender and almost melted in your mouth this paired with the green peppers and onions made it so delectable. The beans were chile beans but seasoned perfectly and tasted great with the sandwich. The Mac and cheese was a little different but still would get again. I will come back and want to try their Dino rib. The service was fantastic and brought my meal out right away. Has a nice cozy area out front when the pit is and they have a back patio as well. Great place to come hang out. They had Christmas decorations up as well as a Christmas tree out front.

I visit Bakersfield once a year for an event, and Prime Time BBQ is a top priority for the trip! Clean & well-kept facility, friendly service, and heavenly food! They are the best place in town; one visit, & you'll be a convert! Pictured: rib combo plate with potato salad, mac 'n cheese, and peach cobbler.

Chicken and ribs are a good platter. I also ordered the brisket but it was dry. I like hot Mac and cheese but the heat was a little much and took away from the flavor. I can say the same for the beans. People that work there are great. Good customer service and it’s pretty fast when it comes to getting your order. I’ll be back. Maybe I caught them on an off day for the brisket. I’ll give an update soon.

I came in for lunch and ordered the two entrée plates. I got tri-tip and ribs. It comes with two sides, I ordered chili beans and mac & cheese. Mac & cheese was delicious, they even throw in some hot links bites so it gives a little spice. The chili beans were pretty good. I didn’t really care much for the ribs or the tri-tip. They both tasted as if they were yesterday‘s meat that had been cooked yesterday and reheated. I did order some peach cobbler to go and when I got home that evening, I had it and it was delicious. I hope this was just an off day.
