One star. We hired Pro Forma for a marriage-based adjustment of status. The forms were filed. Beyond that, the experience was poor. We terminated the engagement before our USCIS interview. We no longer had confidence in the firm, and we were deeply troubled by Renee Taylor's (Ms. Taylor) conduct. The most consequential issue involved Social Security. When my wife went to start a job, she couldn't complete onboarding because she had no Social Security Number. Only after I raised this did Ms. Taylor email: "My apologies, we did not have a discussion about SSN." The SSN box had been checked on the I-765, but by then the Social Security Administration had suspended the program that automatically issues SSNs from that checkbox (Enumeration Beyond Entry) in March 2025. Our forms were filed in August, five months later. By then, immigration attorneys and universities were advising I-765 applicants to apply for SSNs in person. Ms. Taylor pointed to a contract clause stating her firm doesn't advise on law beyond immigration. This wasn't a request for general Social Security advice. It was a basic expectation that our attorney would flag a change affecting whether my wife's work permit would let her work. We were never warned. My wife lost the job. When I raised the issue by phone, Ms. Taylor first blamed the Trump administration for unpredictable policy changes. Later, she blamed a government shutdown. Neither addressed that the EBE suspension was documented months before our forms were filed. She repeated that USCIS and SSA are separate agencies (something I'd acknowledged) and insisted she "didn't make a mistake." When I tried to discuss the communication gap, she interrupted repeatedly. I ended the call. In a later call, after I'd requested a written status update by email, she called anyway, despite her paralegal having agreed to provide one. When I noted she hadn't read my request, she accused me of "berating" her and cited her "five college degrees." She said I had "wanted a phone call." My email requested a written update. When I pointed out she hadn't read it, she reframed this as me saying she "can't read." I never said that. When I called her conduct unprofessional, she claimed I'd said she "doesn't know what she's doing." I never said that either. In her final emails, she claimed the call recordings contain my admission that "every service was appropriately performed." I never said that. She wrote that I "repeatedly stated she cannot read and understand the law." I said, once, that she hadn't read my email. She referenced "reports" about my "harmful" communication with her "staff" over "replacing toner." I communicated only with her and her paralegal, Romas. There was no toner request. There was no other staff. She wrote, "Thank you for letting me know that all services were completed as required." I never said that. Taken together, the real-time distortions, fabricated admissions, and invented staff interactions form a pattern difficult to explain as a misunderstanding. There were other issues. We received conflicting questionnaires from Ms. Taylor and her paralegal, requiring duplicative work. On October 14, Ms. Taylor contacted us about the biometrics appointment three hours after my wife had already attended. The contract discourages texting, but the firm texted regularly throughout. Neither Ms. Taylor nor Romas warned that texts were inappropriate. Romas also initiated the text thread with me, not the other way around. After the fee dispute arose, Ms. Taylor cited the no-texting clause as my primary contract violation. Credit where it's due: Romas was professional and responsive throughout. All interactions are documented and available for any neutral third party to review.

I had questions about Green Card renewal and another attorney's office was going to charge me $300 for a consultation. I decided to reach out to Pro Forma before agreeing to the consultation. I had a short phone call and my questions were answered free of charge. I was able to proceed with my case, and did not need to retain an attorney. I am very grateful for the free advice. Should I need an immigration attorney in the future, I will definitely contact Pro Forma again.
With the help of Mark Daly I applied for adjustment of status back in December 2022 and got my Green Card at the beginning of April. Could not be more satisfied with his services. 100% recommended.
