Great bookshop! Very open and roomy, well litz great selection, and had one book I have been looking for. GREAT recommendations by a few of their employees as well! Worth your stop
An amazing book store! I loved the reviews and recommendations, it was very easy to find what I was looking for. So many fun personal touches for book lovers too.
It’s great to have a bookstore in the short north, and this one has a decent selection and lots of sales, which is great! Staff can be a bit hit or miss - mostly super friendly and helpful, but a few folks who want to be sure you know that working retail is beneath them. Events also are a bit of a crapshoot - space limitations are probably the biggest factor, but even events in other venues often feel a bit disorganized. But hopefully they will iron out the kinks and stick around!
I'm obsessed with Prologue. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, they remember me and greet me by name. Huge variety of books for such a small space, but if they don't have what you're looking for, they'll order it in for you, and call you when it's ready to be picked up. They host events and signings, and have a great rewards program. Fantastic local bookstore 🙌🏻
My first time visiting Prologue was an overall enjoyable experience. It's a small, cozy, well-curated indie shop with a lot to offer for book lovers. Though the space is on the smaller side compared to other places I’ve visited, the selection is broad—from new releases and classics to unique finds like movie scripts for Get Out and A24 films. I especially appreciated the handwritten staff notes on various titles throughout the store—it's low-key one of my favorite things about bookstores these days. The only small critique would be the lack of greeting or interaction when my wife and I walked in. It's a bit of a contrast to the warm, welcoming vibe you usually get at indie bookstores. Still, the overall experience was pleasurable, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re book-hunting down near the Short.
