Refinery Dance est une école de danse basée à West Perth, spécialisée dans la bachata, offrant un enseignement clair, des retours personnalisés et un environnement favorable et accueillant. Dirigée par Gemma et Alvin, les cours allient travail en partenaire, jeu de pieds précis, remise en forme et sensibilisation à la danse sociale. Les élèves apprécient l'accompagnement patient, un enseignement axé sur la progression et une communauté qui aide les débutants à devenir des danseurs confiants.

I love their coaching style! Gemma and Alvin combine partner work with essential footwork, fitness, and situational awareness in social dance. I cant recommend them enough to both beginners and advanced dancers trying to sharpen up. The give clear coaching, personal feedback, and progression every lesson. These stars take their experience as competitive bachata dancers and put it on full display in their lessons, be it partner or solo work. Their team of regulars are really encouraging too, always helping one another out and giving respectful and constructive feedback. They'll catch you when you slip and you'll want to try again! If you want a class that will being the best out of your dance and out of you, then Refinery is the place to be.
I absolutely love attending Gemma's bachata classes, whether it's solo footwork or partner work! From the moment I step into class, she always makes me feel so welcome and comfortable, which means so much to me. As a single parent with a young child, finding the time to attend regular dance classes is a challenge. But Gemma and Alvin have been incredibly accommodating and understanding. What stands out the most is how they break down each step so clearly, making it easy to understand and apply. They don't just teach the moves—they take the time to work with each student individually, offering feedback so we can execute the moves better. It’s so great to find instructors who are so dedicated to their students' growth, and it really shows in every class. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a warm, patient, and knowledgeable duo. Refinery doesn’t only teach you how to dance but also how to feel the music, how to connect and how to become a better you. Gemma and Alvin are great teachers, they really care about you learning not only the fundamentals but also for you to become a great dancer. I have taken many privates with Gemma and she is always fun and knowledge about teaching bachata in all its forms. I can guarantee that if you wanna learn how to be a great bachata dancer, then you must give them a try and see for yourself.
