I recently called this auto shop to request a straightforward quote for a battery replacement, providing all the necessary details including the year, make, and model of my vehicle. To my surprise and frustration, the representative insisted that I "HAD" to bring the car in physically just to receive any pricing information. This policy strikes me as utterly ridiculous and customer-unfriendly—why can't they offer even a ballpark estimate over the phone based on standard specs? In an industry where transparency builds trust, this approach immediately raised red flags for me. It feels like a tactic to get your vehicle "in the door" and then potentially upsell or overcharge once it's there, holding it hostage in a sense (like the old "bird in hand" scenario where you're committed before knowing the full cost). I've dealt with plenty of reputable mechanics who provide rough quotes remotely without issue, so this experience left me leery of being taken advantage of. As a result, I'll be steering clear of this place entirely and recommending others do the same. If basic customer service like this is lacking, I can only imagine what the actual service might entail. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for your automotive needs.
I have an older Mercedes which makes it tough to find a shop and mechanic that use the right parts and have the experience to do even the most basic service. Andrew and the guys in the shop have definitely won my business through transparency, quality, experience and quick turnaround time. Pricing is a little on the higher side of the average, but with them, you actually get the value, so hats off
I don’t know why this place would ever have a bad review, I’m truly thankful. I called them & told them what’s going on and they told me to bring my Mercedes right on in. The next day they got to the root of the problem & by the following day my car was back running properly. After going through previous mechanics with no success , and me being a woman makes things no better … needless to say this place got right on it & the price is very much reasonable in my opinion. If you want something done RIGHT , this is the place to go. Thank you guys so much!!!!
I called to get an estimate from Chuck on some simple maintenance items for my car. I was basically given "we don't want your business prices". $160 for a engine air filter, $160 for a cabin air filter, $420 to change spark plugs on a 4 cylinder engine. All of these prices are 50%-100% higher than the Volkswagen dealership down the road. I would be very careful in seeking services from this business.
MAKE SURE TO READ REVIEWS BEFORE CALLING or VISITING!!! So I was searching on Google for auto shops that specialize in my make a vehicle and I came across Rick & Rays. So I decided to give them a call and when the receptionist answered, she was very upbeat and pleasant and I proceeded to let her know I was calling to get a quote on some work I needed done on my vehicle so she transferred me to a man name Chuck. Now this is the whole changes... I informed him that I was needing a certain part on my car replaced and I was calling to get a quote on how much they would charge me to do so. He didn't ask me well why do you need to replace it? I told him because it needed to be replaced and then he asked me well. How do you know that? Again another odd question, but I answered anyways, and informed him that I had taken it earlier today and got a diagnostic ran on it. And I was told that I needed to replace this part but the quote that they gave me was not something I was prepared to hear so I am now calling around to different shops to see what else I can find. There was a little chuckle in his voice and then he asked me well, ma'am how many shops have you called today? So then I said, why does that matter if I'm calling you at the moment? Once again, another question as he is chuckling . He asked me well what are they quoting you. So then, I said, sir, for one I do not feel comfortable answering that question because you have already asked me what I thought were irrelevant questions to the question I originally asked you . For two, as a woman, I have been taking advantage of multiple times going into auto shops so now I am very cautious and aware of what is going on. So then he proceeded to tell me that he understands and respects how I feel but he was just needing to ask some questions so he can get the info I was requesting . So then he asked me well. Did they tell you the code that popped up? Which they did I just did not have it in front of me at the time. So then he finally asked about the car so I tell him to make the model of the year ... it you won't believe his response... Another ?. He asked what is your last name ma'am? That was my breaking point because I do not feel how all that other information was needed in order just to give me a quote. Yes I had called other places, but none of them asked me the questions you asked. None of them giggled. So I told him just forget everything I'm no longer interested that he's turn my business away and anybody else that I know I will tell them about them because I'm trying to call you to possibly spend money at your business and for you to have an attitude is mind boggling. If someone is calling about a quote about a repair, it's probably because it's needed. I have never known anyone to do unnecessary repairs on their vehicle. I understand taking care of normal maintenance on the vehicle but I was calling about a repair about something that was going bad. This taught me a lesson to check the reviews before calling because I had that done so today it would've saved me a headache!
