I have alot to say about this venue, I will start with the positives. Iris, the grounds keeper, is very sweet. She was there to help anytime we needed it. The property is incredibly beautiful. All sorts of fruit trees, flowers, and unique decor. Unfortunately this is where the review is going to get long. I was unaware that this property has multiple tenants in various buildings on the property. It's a shared space, so people were coming to access the fridge while we were in the middle of the reception. There were people doing landscaping while we were setting up, wheeling wheelbarrows and such. The sound system isn't very modern, I would recommend a dj with their own equipment. Also you won't have service at the venue, which isn't their fault, but is good to know. They started building a kitchen, so there's an entire building partially constructed in the back of my pictures. This wasn't being built when I had booked the venue. I was told that the grounds keeper and her husband were making to go boxes of food from our catering, which seemed very strange. I wouldn't mind at all, but no one asked anyone anything...I didn't think this was normal. Along with this, tenants came and took cake, which blew my mind honestly. This is how we learned they stayed there...as they took cake, they had told a groomsman. The biggest part, they have a fire pit to use. We were heading inside to play cards, so we watered the fire to make sure it was out. We weren't going to leave a fire unattended, especially with the property being covered in foliage. The groundskeepers husband approached the entire group and was so incredibly rude, asking why we put water on the fire pit, causing such a massive mess...there was no mess that I could identify. He said we put live wood on the fire that wouldn't burn. We personally chopped the tree down months ago, it was not live wood. Plus they were small rounds. Regardless of that, approaching us as we were enjoying the evening was beyond inappropriate. I immediately felt so uncomfortable. He ended the conversation laughing at us and waving his hand as he walked away. I will attach photos, there was no reason for this interaction at all. Like anyone, I have been stressing on this day for months. All I was looking forward to is finally having the ceremony over with and relaxing with my friends and family, and I feel like that was robbed from me. All I could do is worry about how angry we made this man. I felt like I needed to leave. Even if we had caused a mess, it could have been stated after the event. Then once I got home, I dreaded going back the next morning to grab the trash and have him accuse us of something else. It's just such a bad way to end your wedding day. Iris approached me after the interaction and apologized, she usually tells people to not put water on the fire, but forgot to tell me that. So I got to be scolded for it. I appreciate the apology, but it is still such a let down that he did it at all. I would also recommend getting ready before coming to the venue. They do have a large room to use, but the lighting is very dim. There are only a few plug ins and no mirrors in the room itself. They also had an event the day before and after mine. So I had to hold off on setting up until the last person got everything cleaned up. Which set the day back a little. All and all, the place is beautiful and Iris is sweet, but I'm not certain I would be comfortable recommending the venue without being aware of the other tenants and for the love of God don't put water on their fire pit ha.
This is a beautiful little jewel of a venue, strangely tucked away in an industrial park, but at the edge by a pretty park and next to the Truckee River. A great place for dance classes, drum circles, small gatherings for weddings, anniversaries and birthdays. The curators, Tom and Iris are kind, friendly and knowledgeable in the growing of all kinds of organic vegetables, fruits and flowers. It's a wonderful place to just take a walk around, too. 💖
Un bel endroit sur le Truckee River pour un événement, pour une réunion informelle, pour une promenade décontractée le long du Truckee River ou de nombreuses autres merveilleuses expériences de vie. Une atmosphère amicale abonde, mais j'avoue que je suis un peu biaisé car j'ai pu y vivre presque deux ans.😀
The River School est un endroit génial pour se détendre et passer du temps avec des gens incroyablement sympas. Conscious Dancing les vendredis soirs ou les percussions de pleine lune ne sont que deux de leurs offres régulières. Ils offrent également des espaces intérieurs et extérieurs pour des événements privés. Faites-y un tour !
### content Bel endroit sur le truckee river et une propriété plutôt cool. Je n'ai jamais assisté à des cours ici, mais j'ai définitivement apprécié les œuvres d'art étranges et aléatoires sur la propriété. J'y ai déjà vu un grand spectacle de danse du ventre là-bas, et waouh...
