The service and overall ambiance were excellent. I was really excited to dine here, and our waiter was kind, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, the food did not meet the expectations set by the restaurant’s reputation and pricing. The tomahawk steak was good, but it didn’t justify the $270 price tag—it felt like a fairly basic Wagyu preparation for the cost. The beef tartare was also underwhelming. I did enjoy the truffle fries, though I wish they were paired with a sauce that elevated the dish; the one provided was overly salty. As it was our anniversary, we were given a very large cotton candy, which felt more gimmicky than thoughtful. Additionally, there were no complimentary items like bread, soup, or chips, which are typically offered at restaurants in this price range. Overall, despite great service and atmosphere, the experience didn’t feel worth the money.
The steaks and burgers were excellent. The desserts stood out too, rich, fresh, and worth saving room for. Service was fast, friendly, and on point from start to finish.
We went to RPM steak yesterday after attempting to do a “one day travel somewhere”. We were incredibly tired from exploring in the cold and wanted a really good burger. We found RPM steak and we immediately were seated at the bar which we wanted. We were attended by a blonde woman who we think is named Sam/Sarah or Maddie. She was amazing! She was timely, and knowledgeable. We had an alcohol restriction and she met us with some yummy lemonade. It was so tasty. We went in the afternoon and we ordered the double wagyu cheeseburger and some fries. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS! The patty was flavorful and juicy! It was so filling! Such a simple burger and it was great. It was also reasonably priced. We really enjoyed the time. We are already planning to make another visit to try the other menu items. Give RPM steak a try!
We had an outstanding experience at RPM Steak. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt upscale yet comfortable. The staff was attentive, professional, and made us feel truly welcome. The steaks were exceptional—perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly high-quality cuts. The sides and appetizers were just as impressive, especially the seafood tower and the truffle fries. Everything was presented beautifully. Service was timely, the drinks were fantastic, and the entire dining experience felt well-curated from start to finish. RPM Steak is definitely one of the best steakhouses in Chicago, and I highly recommend it for a special night out or any time you want a top-tier meal.
Wow! What a great experience we had celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary - everyone made our experience special. The food was spectacular, the service was great and the overall experience met our expectations. Our waiter, Eric went out of his way to make our time there "extra" and even made sure my food was "gluten free". Overall, I'd rate this as top tier experience!
