Our server Melissa was fabulous! Food was great, we had steak, lobster and scallops. Get the Gumbo if it’s on the menu! Delicious ! Take their advice that all the sides are shareable! General Mgr was also very personable and checked in with us. Very nice atmosphere, friendly service and good food. Highly recommend! Just steps away from Embassy Suites.
We had such an amazing dinner tonight! We got the Tomahawk dinner for 2 and it was delicious!!!!! The creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, salad and chocolate cake that came with it were all impeccable!! I was even surprised with a birthday strawberry platter! The iced tea is Amazing too! I’m kind-of an iced tea snob, and it was Perfect!!! Our server Josh was amazing and Matthew one of the managers took the time to see how we were doing and made us feel really welcome!!! 10 stars!
I have been dining here for many years, whenever we visit from Australia Ruth’s is always a go and never disappoints. When travelling solo i like to sit at the bar (no booking necessary) Last night i had two amazing servers in-the bar. A male and female. Friendly, knowledgable and professional. Last night i chose the Pinot by the glass (maybe 2 maybe 3) it was superb, the Filet cooked to perfection and Potato Gratin with cheese melt. I simply cannot fault the food or service in anyway it was just a shame a clearly vocal and intoxicated elderly couple were loud and annoying at the bar. The male knocked his wine and smashed the glass all over the bar… at that point i would have cut him off but it wasn’t my choice obviously but a note to the servers, that behaviour affects others diners enjoyment.
First of all, I recommend you go on a Saturday. Make a reservation and ask specifically to sit in Aljay’s section. He is an amazing server, super attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. Tell him Steve and Jenn from New York say hello. We had the seafood tower to start, amazing and fresh. Then we had the T bone, lobster mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. All were amazing and we highly recommend. The management is great as well, they stopped by the table multiple times.
I made a reservation expecting a top-notch experience, but this place turned out to be a huge letdown. Yes, we were seated quickly and the server was polite, but that’s about the only positive thing I can say. I ordered the combo with the New York strip, petit filet, and shrimp. The New York strip was fine—thick and cooked medium-rare as requested. But the petit filet was absolutely unacceptable. Instead of a proper filet, they brought out two thin slices of meat that were completely overcooked to medium-well. It was dry, tough, and almost inedible. I specifically ordered medium-rare, and what I got was the exact opposite. This is supposed to be a famous steakhouse in Hawaii, yet they couldn’t even get a basic steak order right. Serving two thin, overcooked pieces of “filet” is beyond disappointing—it feels like they cut corners, and it ruined the whole meal. Honestly, I left angry and frustrated. For a place with this kind of reputation, the experience was shockingly bad.
