pasta is amazing, one of the best sauces I've ever had. service was attentive, would recommend and I'll be going again!
Took my wife here for our anniversary meal, and loved it. Friendly service and great food. We opted for a main pasta course each, and a pizza to share. I had the Zitoni Toscanini which was made with spiced Tuscan Sausage. My wife had the Ravioli Tartufo, a cheese based dish topped with truffle shavings. We shared a Burrata Pizza, which had vegetarian ‘nduja amongst the toppings, as well as a whole burrata in the centre. Everything was delicious. We'd been to Rome earlier in the month, and this meal was up to what we ate there. I had a large glass of Primitivo Passorano from the wine list, she had a Mocktail. We were presented with Profiteroles at the end, with an anniversary greeting written in chocolate sauce, which was a nice touch. The only let down was that we were seated by a table of four men who were getting quite drunk, rowdy, and sweary. Not something you expect in an establishment like this. We didn't let it ruin our evening though, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Impromptu dinner date with my Sister. As we didn’t have a reservation, we had the uber drop us by Temple Street and around pigeon park-as we knew around that location has various restaurants to choose from. We had a look at a couple of other nearby restaurants menus in the window but nothing quite caught our eye, until we looked at San Carlos…we were spoilt for choice! Looking inside it looked rather busy so we didn’t get our hopes up that there would be a table available but thought it was worth a try. The host was lovely and quickly said that she’d show us to a table for 2 up the stairs. We were seated in the middle of a row of two seaters tables. These are quite close together but it didn’t bother us as no one was either side, but I can imagine on a busy weekend it may be as if you’re sitting with strangers. Our dishes were cooked to perfection and there was nothing left- as someone with an allergy I didn’t feel like I was limited with menu choice, and chose tagliatelle bolognese. We also shared garlic bread with cheese which was so good! To the point my sister left a slice because she said she was too full and then couldn’t leave it and ate it! I’ve already said we’ll go back next time we’re in Birmingham!
Had dinner with colleagues - 8 of us Monday night 03/11. Front of desk excellent, welcomed us like we were rock stars 🤩. Lovely atmosphere. Food was delicious and wine excellent. Grill portion could be bigger but overall excellent place. I’ll be back!
I had a delicious meal on Friday. We were seated quickly and the food didn't take too long. All my seafood was fresh and tasty I just wish I more than one scallop. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come again.
