Great service. Knowledgeable staff. Have a lot of camera accessories. Does not develop film but will recommend a place to go to develop your film
I find the sale person here having no idea on how to sell a product, very confrontational and argumentative as soon as the sale is no longer going in the direction in favor of the store. This is good in retrospect since it immediately scares me away to other retailers. Imagine the trouble I would need to go through if there is need of returns or warranty.
I visited San Jose Camera and Video for an insurance appraisal on a high-value lens, a service Rudy, an employee, assured me they offer on Mondays and Thursdays for a small fee. Upon arriving on a Thursday, the initial employee was helpful, but a few minutes later, a manager or owner intervened and completely derailed the process. This individual was immediately confrontational and argumentative, stating he would only provide a purchase quote, not a fair market value assessment for insurance purposes. When I clarified I was not selling, his hostility escalated. He explicitly refused to assess the lens, labeling the situation "shady." His refusal seemed motivated by disapproval that I had secured a good deal and the appraisal value would be significantly higher than my purchase price. The manager's unprofessionalism and hostility were shocking and unacceptable. I drove out of my way based on a false assurance of service, only to be insulted and turned away for a legitimate request. The store should not advertise services they do not provide. I strongly advise against using this store for appraisals or if expecting basic courtesy. After two consistently horrible appraisal attempts this year, I will not return and strongly advise others to go elsewhere.

Oh my gosh, I had an incredible time at this place! It was my first time there, and I can honestly say that it’s a must-visit for anyone who loves photography. The staff were absolutely amazing! They were super friendly and always ready to help. They took the time to understand my needs and even went above and beyond to assist me. I especially want to thank Ricardo for helping me out with my shopping experience. You were a lifesaver! I highly recommend this place to any photography enthusiast. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
