I have been getting massage therapy and some stretching with Helena at this office for over 6 months. While I have enjoyed the massages I've gotten elsewhere, they usually have been more about relaxation than recovery and mobility. Helena listens to words and the body and responds with a firm and effective hand. She also has made some great recommendations for at home muscle recovery. My husband also sees her now on a regular schedule.
Dr Brown is helping me after decades of inadequately treated hypothyroidism. She is methodical and analytical, and at the same time very kind and caring. Her office is not fancy, but very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Her rates are very reasonable, and have so far fallen within the range that my insurance considers “reasonable and customary.” If you prefer a western medicine approach that also incorporates the rational use of non-pharmaceuticals such as appropriate hormone and nutrition support, she is a good choice. (She offers acupuncture as well, but I have never felt pressured to have it in my treatment plan.) Her medical massage therapist Helena is also very talented. I would recommend Dr Brown to anyone looking for a holistic approach to a chronic health problem.
I do not recommend this office. I am sure Dr. Brown is a great dr. but the office staff and billing department do not know how to handle a simple process such as allowing me to submit a benefits level exception. My insurance spoke the office twice and explained it does not impact the office or billing, but the billing department was too stubborn to listen and refused to see me as a patient. Even though I agreed to pay for all services up front and agreed to submit any insurance bills myself so as not to involve the billing department. Very frustrating overall experience with this office.
I appreciated the opportunity to have a get acquainted phone call with Dr Brown prior to setting up an appt. My health insurance doesn't cover neuropathic doctors, so I wanted to "screen" if I thought she'd be a good fit for me. With both her questions and listening of me, I felt assured to make an appointment with her and have felt very good about her thorough assessment and recommendations.
I have been seeing Dr. Brown for over 6 years now I think. I have been through many ups and downs physically with her and she has always been supportive and helped me in every way. She is not just a naturopath, but a friend you can tell anyone to and has amazing empathy and healing skills. Anything that ails you, hormones, pain, allergies, she will help. Her office is also so warm and comfortable, it is like a spa experience, and I just feel like my day gets immensely better when I go to her. Highly recommend
